When I'm particularly bored and have too much time on my hands I check out the "wheels/tires/suspension" and "SRT8 Discussion" forums. I do like what appears to be his response to your response "Nice try. Try again." He blew "Data" off! The nerve!!!!! Oh...and it is one place where I can feel "somewhat" smart about our cars! Just ask Ralph!
See! I told you I picked up 25 HP with my Mopar CAI. How come all the posting stopped over there? That was kind of an entertaining read.
Speaking of which...I just cleaned and oiled mine. How do you oil yours? I'm afraid to over oil mine after what happened to me when I over oiled my K&N on my Tacoma TRD truck. I destroyed my idle intake sensor. It cost me over $400!!!!
Yikes! I over oiled mine the first time too but I had the luxury of letting it sit for a couple of days. I got the Mopar and before it got really dirty I bought the AFE. So when I put the AFE on I cleaned and oiled the Mopar. I figured I had too much on there so I let it sit standing up for a day and it produced a small puddle underneath it. If you have the squeeze bottle you're just suppose to put a line down the veins (top of the pleats) and it will gradually spread from there. If you have the spray/spritz bottle it's sort of the same. Basically I don't know. I over oiled the Mopar pretty good. Then when I did the AFE I only over oiled just a little bit. I think next time I'm going to be pretty close to just right...
Ironically, today I read that Mopar now has an oil-less replacement filter for the CAI. I was considering buying one, buy I already have the filter and the cleaner and oil, and don't want to spend $40 on it. However, it might be worth it if I don't destroy any sensors!
I'd give it another shot. Just run a line down the peak of each pleat. Only put an amount that you think is way too little. Then check it after a day. I wouldn't run any dirt roads but I'd think it's effective enough bone dry for a little while. See if it spreads. If it's still bone dry in the valleys then put a little more on the top of the pleats. It's kind of like when you put a drop of oil in the center of a napkin. in a few hours it's spread over the whole thing.
I might be the dumbass late to this ah ha moment....but this guy cant be serious anymore lol I have decided hes just jerkin us around and its just annoying LOL
The guy is a Fram Salesman. Once he made that comment about Chrysler building the motor for 450hp then detuning it by simply swapping an air filter was the proof. haha We are ALL dumber now for reading his comments. Notice he completely ignores everyones factual data?
I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKjxFJfcrcA
/me was overwhelmed by stupid and bailed before he got infected with idiot flu and help spread the dumbass pandemic that is charger forums. :help: hahhaa, I think I've been a member over there for 3 years now. I got like 10 posts. That place never fails to make want to stick a gun in my mouth.
lol .. Cam, don't do it buddy .. its not worth it! puutttt the gun dooowwwnnnn! Ron, I read the first 2 pages over there and I couldnt do it anymore. I think that clip suits the thread extremely well
That's funny right there!! On a side note: This guy actually made Dave (Quick) resort to a personal attack....that's a first as far as I know! Hehe
WTF, they deleted the Billy Madison post I made. Said I needed to keep it civil. lol I guess the truth really does hurt?
dave youre teaching me maturity, my parents couldnt even do that. i didnt even try to post on that idiotic (but par for the course at charger forums) thread.
Actually you're ALL wrong. The engine was initially designed with an SAE output of 500 hp. The PCM has been programmed to pull timing bringing the output down to 425hp. To unleash the additional ponies all you need to do is follow the steps below: 1) Turn key to on position but DO NOT start the vehicle 2) Turn the steering wheel to the extreme left and right (remember the car is not running so you will need to muscle the wheel. Bud, I suggest you jack the front wheels off the ground first) 3) Go into the driver personalization menu and select auto door locks off (I know this sounds crazy but it works so stay with me) 4) Depress the gas pedal 5 times in 5 seconds going completely to the floor and releasing completely each time. 5) Open all door locks and then lock all door locks - must use door button and not the key fob 6) Finally turn the headlight on and off twice It's that simple! Oh yeah, almost forgot........add nitrous.
