My brother decided he needed to get more power oir of this charger SRT8, so he took his car to the local racing shop to get bigger valves on his polished and ported heads. The valves installed in my brothers’ car are 2.100 intake valves and 1.650 exhaust valves. My brother and I have the same mods, besides the valves, I still have the stock valves. Check the results. Our next decision is whether to get a bigger TB, probably the 85mm, a set of kook headers with a more aggressive cam. This would be to try to get as much out of the heads as possible. Another thing is whether we will need bigger injectors after all the mods previously mention. What do you guys recommend?
Hey Carlos. Your stock injectors should do fine with your mods. Your flow rates look good. If your new cam is very agressive, you may need to step up the injector size. I'd say your on the right track with your next round of mods. Better intake, and better exhaust, will make more HP with a bigger cam. You really won't see much benefit for the bigger valves until you improve the intake and exhaust, so you might look at something like Stanko's ported intake also. Then you will be in need of a good custom CMR tune. This can be done by email if you don't have access to a good tuner locally. I'm still using my stock fuel pump with the big black injectors and a 426. Still using my stock TB and a mildy ported INDY intake manifold. Did 505/506 NA, and 623/650 with a 150 shot pulling 2 degrees of timing. I have something most everyone doesn't have, a fuel pressure gauge. Haven't seen the need for more fuel.
