First photos of Maddy (ChargerBaby)

Her last weight measurement before we left was 2 lbs 12.5 oz. So she's gained a little since birth and she's not losing weight. :happy:

We're going back in just a bit to spend the day with her. :love:

Alright, no big updates today, just that's she's doing fine and no tests or procedures were necessary. I swear she looks a little bigger every time I see her.

Here are today's pictures, finally got her when she was awake. I'll be posting videos in just a while so you can see her in action.

Now for the videos...

The first few are pretty well, heart-wrenching, but we didn't know what to expect and wanted to get her on video just in case. The last few are much better as you can see how much she's improved in just a matter of days. Her eyes are open and she's even sort of trying to smile around that tube in her mouth. I'm hoping to add more positive videos and photos in the coming weeks.

Tamara! She's absolutely beautiful! I didn't have the heart to watch the first few in all honesty. My heart goes out to you guys. She looks like she's going to be A OK! I'm very happy for you two.

Monday Update:

Very sorry but no pictures or video today. Maddy's looking even more beautiful/cute than ever.

Maddy is no longer in the surgical ward and has been moved to another wing for infants who don't need surgery in the foreseeable future. They're keeping her in an isolet (box) so she can stay warm and have some peace and quiet.

She now weighs 2 lbs 15 oz, so just shy of 3 lbs!! and the IV line in her hand was taken out, so no more gauze mits. :thumb3:

I got to hold her skin to skin for the first time and we got to bathe her tonight. I was on sponge bath duty and surprise surprise, Marc finally got to hold her AND wash her hair. :hug:

She's much more alert now and still fairly mellow. She makes her displeasure known when being poked, diapered, or bathed, but otherwise she just makes little noises and faces when yawning or stretching. Too too cute!! :baby:

We'll be going back again tomorrow and hopefully get some more pictures. She's filling out a bit and is still a beautiful golden/pinkish color and has big beautiful eyes. Words can't describe how relieved and happy Marc and I are that she's doing so much better and we're getting more and more excited about bringing her home.

No sooner than 35 weeks, which is 3 weeks from Friday. We can't wait!! :happy:

 

Well....that day probably can't come soon enough.

Tuesday update:

Just one photo today:



Good news is, they're now feeding her breastmilk via a feeding tube. They're watching close to make sure there's no problems with the feeding and slowly weaning her off the IV nutrients. As you can see, she's filling out a bit and her color is looking good. We'd have more photos, but the sun was going down fast and there's not a lot of light in the nursery at night. More to come!

 

Wednesday update:

Maddy is looking good and likes the breastmilk they're feeding her. So far so good!

Seems like just yesterday when we were going to lunch almost everyday and you were just starting to prepare yourself to even try, and now you're there with lil baby Maddy I'm super proud of and thrilled for you and Mark both that it has worked out considering the circumstances from start to now (you got 18. years before it's finished!)

I guess I better start building the gokart, I'm a lagger it should be done just in time! Oh wait! NOTHING TO SEE HERE! MOVE ALONG!
