toothmonger, If you have my CMR tune and have an issue just contact me and I can adjust for your emission test. Dave..
Dave will fix it up for you! I will be calling you soon Dave I gotta have you raise my shift points and play around with my AF a little. Do you have to upgrade to the newest version to raise the shift points? Or can you just add it to my current CMR...I think I am running version 17
Unfortunately, you cant raise shift points with the CMR software. You can raise shift points with the predator itself though.
Oh really I hadnt heard all the details yet on it....You could always do it with the LX's, but the Jeeps just got the option right?
ok, Dave changed my current tune to help me pass. I load it up and have no CEL's for around 15 or so miles. Then I get..... P0153 02 Circuit Slow Response Bank 2, Sensor 1 P0133 02 Circuit Slow Response Bank 1, Sensor 1 I reload the "inspection tune" just before getting to the station so I have no CEL's. They tell me that I need to put another 100 miles or so on the jeep to get the other sensors active. Problem is that if I drive it much further the CEL comes back on and they say it won't pass with a CEL active. The first pic is the inspection of my first try. It's my original email tune with many miles on it. The second pic is the inspection of my second try. It's my Dave tune to try and pass inspection. I loaded it in the parking lot of the inspection place. Any ideas Dave?
Ya, you cant just reset the codes and go test. Thats what I was trying to say in my early posts. You have to get your car into "ready status"
I stated this before in this thread...You CAN get someone to do a CMR tune that leaves the 02 sensors ON and in READY status that doesn't throw a CEL. Josh of HHP did mine and my rear 02's are Enabled and I haven't thrown a CEL for my highflow cats. Before the CMR tune the only way to not get the CEL for the highflows was to Disable the rear 02's with the Predator. I would suggest you call Josh at HHP.
I am sure if Josh knows how to do it Dave does as well...he has basically taught everyone how to tune these things
That's great, but it doesn't sound like it from this thread...unless I'm missing something here. You should be able to have the rear 02's enabled and not throw emmisions related codes.
I called HHP alittle while ago to get some more info on this. Apparently what I said can be done as is with my set-up, but NOT all cars can get the emmisions related codes tuned out with the CMR. Supposedly has something to do with the cam profiles and other supporting mods. So it appears with my mild cam and mods that I was able to get a CMR tune to stop my high-flow cat codes, but others with more aggressive cams, etc. may not. So I stand corrected...............
If you put the 02 simulators on it should give you long enough between cels to be in ready status and pass inspection.
They don't work in that the CEL's come back eventually (for most) and are marketed as gone for good. It should delay things long enough for him to get the job done though.
not the electronic ones.......Use the spark plug anti foulers that space the 02 further off the pipe.Kooks had the right idea by placing a spacer on the pipe but it's not long enough and allows too much flow.By using the antifoulers you leave the one in the pipe with a 1/4" hole to restrict flow and drill the other so the 02 sensor tip fits through. Most will eliminate the CEL all together and at minimum allow enough time to get inspected.
Didn't read the whole thread, so sorry if it has been covered, but you may be able to get rid of the misfire code by bumping up your idle. C.
