That's actually a good question. Mirrors contribute a huge amount of aerodynamic drag. I seem to remember numbers like 3% to 6%. (Might be a little less in the case of a Jeep since it's shaped like a brick.) and I think those numbers are at speeds around 60 mph. Drag increases much faster than linear with speed. So at 100 mph it could be very significant. Since you're accelerating through the quarter mile the difference probably wouldn't be measurable in the first 1/8 but probably so in the last 1/8 and certainly at the end. I assume they don't allow you to turn in both mirrors? haha, throw the seats out to get you off the line and turn the mirrors in to get you through the traps.
Yep, It's a West Coast thing to help make up for the bad air. And you can turn both in. With the GC's aerodynamics, you take any advantage you can.
That's because i let the girl with me record....notice all of the other shots are damn near perfect angles and zooming.....if i had a twin to record my runs that would be perfect!
