That you can hear but it may still be knocking. I would be curious to see what your knock count is.

and i know what a knock sounds and feels like

Can you feel your car pulling about 5* of timing between 4800 and 5200 rpm's? That is normal operation if your leaning out or your intake temps are too high it pulls more. Upwards of 15* IIRC
