This thread needs graphs!! Congrats on the big numbers! I can't wait to go big turbo in the future with supporting mods.
30psi on a 57 trim on a stock block? unless it's seriously detuned and making no power for that psi level and very rich, that is not safe. my last dyno was 25psi on a dinkly little s3 turbo and i'm borderline to pop it.
30 psi is 30 psi.....doesn't matter what turbo is pushing it. The volume of air is more with the bigger turbo, but the pressure is the same. The stock block/head has been known to push 30+psi without issues (except for stretched bolts)...as long as the tune is good, of course. A bad tune will kill you WAAAAAY faster then high psi.
psi i am the head mechanic at hp performance one of the usa's number 1 turbo companies. we build nothing but turbo mustangs and corvettes. we have an in house dyno to tune on. and we are VERY skilled in the tuning area. im not just some kid wanting to up my boost to make big numbers. i know what it takes to get big numbers on big boost at a safe level.
I am a stupid kid that just wants to turn it up and fuxor some shiz up. Congrats on the numbers I would love to see some graphs if you have them. What rpm did you make your peak at?
peak was about 4600 and held a table till about 5400 then started coming down. it is kind of laggy right now with this synapse wastegate. im sure with a tial i will make peak power by 4200 and it should hold till about 5500. this synapse just flutters real bad when i hit 15psi.
not bad #s i got a friend who popped his motor at 33-35psi on a gt35r when they were out tuning haha so now he built it
