very cool.. only reason im interested in that (since im not going all out on my car) is because im going to eventually upgrade to S2 injectors, and i'd rather not be wasting a ton of fuel. thanks for updating this, and im interested in seeing that dyno, and hearing more about the car that was tested. also, when adjusting the boost, was that via the tuning or WGA. i know this can clear the over boost codes people will get when upping the boost via WGA, but will it prevent the code from the tune itself?
Yes, we upped the boost through the PCM, not the WG. We also eliminate the overboost code from coming up at all....
User tuneable through the Predator itself, then even more control available through you local CMR dealer using our CMR software. Thanks Mike
probally a stupid question but would it work on a PT Cruiser as well?? Same motor same turbo just an automatic with Autostick.
i thought i read that you can tune via PC and download that to the predator. if not, is there any way to get the tuning software besides going to a CMR tuner and paying a buttload for a tune.
No, the initial release will be just SRT4 Neons. Yes, tunes can be built in CMR then loaded to the Predator, or you can tweak any of our canned tunes through the Predator yourself. CMR is currently only available to tuning shops with a dyno, and it is somewhat expensive if you dont plan to use it to tune lots of cars...
hmmm.. ill have to wait and see all what you can do through the predator upon its release and how fine the adjustments will be. i tried to read up on it as much as possible as far as the custom tuning goes, it looks like through the predator, you can tune your fuel and spark tables in three spots, low-mid-high rpm. through the software im assuming that its much finer like 16x16 maps. i may be wrong, but i tried reading as much as i could to understand it. sorry for all the questions, i just wanna understand exactly what MY abilities will be without taking it to a tuner and paying a 100+$ on top of the predator cost for a specific tune.
At the minimum you will have control over rev limits, idle speed, WOT fuel in 3 ranges, WOT timing in 3 ranges and injector slope. CMR is a full suite tuning program with full tables functions and scalar groups available for full editing. Thanks Mike
A few things have come to light here today. It turns out we will not be able to do injector scaling through the Predator. There are several tables and scalars that need to be changed to do it properly, and it cant be done as a simple adjustable parameter like we do in our GM tools. This means larger injectors will require a custom tune, but it will be super simple as we will provide cal files to our dealers that they can apply in like 5 seconds to set your tune up for you. Also, it does look like we'll be able to do 03-05 PT Cruiser turbos, so thats good news for those guys...not sure about the 06s yet, as they have totally different files. We'll start testing on the PTs next week, but the best news is, we're almost done and this should be ready within a month. Did an 03 today, picked up 36 whp and 68 ft/lbs on a bone stock car!
