OK guys and gals....I know many of you have heard and some have been waiting for some time for us to release our SRT4 Predator.

We have begun Beta testing in house on the dyno last week.

We are in the process of tuning a Yellow 03 Neon SRT4 as I type this.

My question to you all is, what do you have done to your car?
We seem to have a feeling that there are not too many (if any at all) bone stock SRT4s out there....so, tell us what the most popular mods are.

The car we have here has a dump on the downpipe, and is tee'd off to make 17 psi. Besides the CAI, the rest is stock.

We're trying to gauge how to set up the canned tunes that we will be offering.

Any input here is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mike

i would say the most common mods will probably be CAI, catback, catless DP, things like that.

another common one would be upgraded WGA, but there are many different ones people use, stage II, AGP, Kinetic, Forge, etc.

on my car personally, i have a K&N CAI, INJEN Catback for my 'power' mods. i will be running my forge WGA as soon as i have something that can clear the code, making the car run in limp mode.

but as long as i can do a end user custom tune, as long as i have some 'base' tune to start with (91-93 octane canned tune) i can adjust to whatever mods i throw at the car.

the "usual" upgrade path consists of wga/mbc/intake/exhaust/s1. after that people go in various paths depending on what they're looking for. many people will upgrade the fuel soon after (750cc's/return line/fpr/pump/controller), or possibly do a throttle body or a fmic or something along those lines.

while it's very true that it's rather difficult to find a stock nsrt, most people don't actually heavily mod. what i mentioned above is usually what most people end up doing. when they do more, it's usually big turbo or more of the major mods.

Why not just flash the stage kits as base tunes. Thats what agp is doing with the SCT. I hear stage 3 pcms are working real well with big turbo kits.

We did a full tune on a stock 05 yesterday, picked up real good power, and had no problem upping the boost with the tune, pretty slick stuff.

Car picked up about 30 rwhp from the added boost and tuning plus a butt-load of torque down low. Owner declared it to be a whole new car when he picked it up...

I'll try to get a dyno sheet posted up here later.

    Thanks
    Mike

My entire mod list (performance and otherwise) is located here >> http://snailmotorsports.com/index.php?page=mods-mike

The key things that would be important in tuning non-stock cars is the ability to scale for larger injectors, and non-stock fuel pressure (rising rate or whatever).

Are the tunes going to be user configurable or will you have to have a tuner write your map for you?

Injectors will likely need a custom tune, as it is tough to properly scale for all the different injector options without access to the injector tables, but we'll make it so you have plenty of adjustment.

    Thanks

i think what he is asking is if there is the rough conversion for the correction like some of the piggybacks, where you enter your stock injector size and your bigger injector size.

something like 570cc=750cc it would be rough either way, but instead of it adding the normal duty cycle, it would scale it down so the 750cc would act like the 570cc.

and DANG.. the 05 got that much RWHP gain.. must be one badass srt4 :thongue2:

no, but seriously 30whp is a very nice gain.. what were the mod to the 05? stock?
