Cruzin Grand in Escondido, Ca.

Hey Everyone in or near San Diego, County.

Just wanted to let everyone know, last Friday (4-4-08), Cruzin Grand started up the 2008 season. Every Friday Night during April thru September 2008, there will be a car event happening.

Last week, 1sickcharger and I met up and left a few marks in the streets of Escondido. The event happens every Friday night from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. on Grand Ave. Last Year, a group of 10 - 12 of us LX'ers got together and had a blast.

I only live 2 miles form the event so, I'm able to drive by there almost every Friday.

If anyone is interested in getting a group together for this event, let me know and I will make it happen!

I don't think becoming part of the prestigious EQ will ever happen, my meat is not fresh! Drew is kinda cute though.

 

OK, I have some information to Share.

I received a call from the people representing the Downtown Escondido Association. They informed me, they are going to have a MOPAR Event at Cruzin Grand on Friday Night May 16, 2008.
They have invited us to attend this event with our newer rides. I've been promissed up to 28 parking spaces at the 300 block of Grand Ave. for all of us.

I need to confirm the number of those wanting to attend by 04/23/2008.

So, please get the word out and let me know if you will be attending, it is manditory that you sign up for this to receive a parking spot on Grand Ave. Anyone that just shows up and did not pre register will not recieve a parking pass. You will be able to cruz Grand in your ride, but will not be able to park your car on Grand Ave.

Sound like fun and way to represent the new gen of Mopars sign your name in the street for me again next time.

 

I'll be in Vegas that weekend. I will definitely head up that way on some of the other nights though.

I just got off the phone with the reresentitives of Cruzin Grand;

GOOD NEWS is, we have been accepted to officially be part of the Mopar event to be held on May 16, 2008. We will be given up to, 28 parking spaces on Grand Ave. (normally, this is only given to those with pre 1974 cars)
This means; there will be a write up about our Club or group in the Newspaper, we will be listed in the program guide for that night and our group will be anounced several times during the event by the MC.

They have asked me to provide them with a brief write up about our club / groups / cars / people Etc... This write up will be the one used in the newspaper and program guide. I explained that all of us are part of several different LX forums and not actually a "car club". They are ok with this but, said people will not understand what SRT8oc, LXforums and SRTconnection is.

The goal is; to capture all of the cars that we'll be representing (SRT8's - 300's - Charger's - Magnums, Etc..)

Anyone willing to HELP with this?

 

Why Are We Not Using The Socallx Name?

 

We haven't decided on anything yet, that's why I'm looking for some help with this!
Going with SocalLX is definetly an option.
Is that what everyone wants to do? It certainly would be easier to list all of us has part of the Socallx club. Is everyone part of Socallx?

Hey Everyone, just a thought.

The area we wil be parking at is; directly in front of the LA Tapatia mexican restuarant. This restaurant has some of the best mexican food and Margaritas in the area. We will only be 25 feet from the entrance. If there is interest, I can make a reservation for Dinner or we can all just do our own thing.

What are your thoughts?

Wanted to give everyone a quick update regarding this event.

Everything is a go, we only have 10 days until this happens. I'm being told, an event packet will be sent to my house at the beginning of next week. I'm assuming this packet includes parking information and event passes.

Also, the Dinner reservation thing didn't go over very well as I only received two yeses, so we will be on our own for dinner.

At this point we have about 15 - 16 cars planning on attending and I can reserve up to 28 parking spots. If anyone is sitting on the fence about this, you need to let me know now. You will not be able to park on the Street without a parking pass (sticker).
I know some of you may be thinking; just reserve all 28 spots, but I'm not comfortable
reserving all 28 spots and have only 15 or so show up.

Those of you that have not signed up, please let me know ASAP if you want to attend. I need to give the Escondido Downtown Association a car count by the end of this week!

 

do we need to be there at or before 4 or can we roll in after? how do we get the parking passes?

 

The passes are going to be sent to me in the mail. I'll be on site to hand them out starting at 4:00 pm. It's not manditory to be there at 4:00, but I'm not sure how I'm going to save parking spots. I'll know more once the event packet arrives in the mail. Maybe, the City cones off the area and it won't be a problem.

I just found out, they will have security on site to save our spots for us from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. After 6:00pm, we'll be on our own to try and keep others from parking in our area.
