lol, i am not trying to turn a $1000 problem into a problem that will cost me 3 or 4 times as much. if i baby it it should be alright for a few weeks right? i just do not have the $ right now to put into it. i really want to upgrade, and repair it all at one time beings that it is such a hard area to get to, i am thinking a month, 2 tops.:ilovesrtc:

i plan on doing the work myself. guy i work with has all the tools i need, and the place to do it. and alot more know how also. if i was wanting to find a service manual for the srt-4 where would be the best place to look?

the way my luck runs it will be double that! lol:cry2:

that is a very ghetto exhaust.

as far as visible mods, i see motor mounts, a hardpipe with a HKS SSQV Bov, oil pressure gauge, injen intake, and a phenolic intake spacer. there are bolts missing from the heatshield....it could have a 3in 02 housing, or the turbo could have been swapped at some point. i have a feeling this car was downgraded before the previous owner sold it.

those catch cans are perfectly functional, the neccesity of the one between the intake and valve cover is argueable. hose color and placement can be changed to make them a little less ugly.

everytime i've done the clutch...i've pulled the motor and trans at the same time...lol

thanks for the input. the only motor mount that isnt stock is the one you can see in the pic i posted. the trans mount under the battery is stock as well as the lower motor mount. go figure... it definately has the HKS SSQV BOV, you hear it every gear! lol good stuff... i was thinking the same thing about the car being down graded. that or whoever had it before me got a little carried away and trashed the head on it. the reason i say that is the block, transmission and most the rest of the engine bay are, how is the best way to put it... dirtier than the head. just lookst to me like the head has been off of it. i noticed the bolts missing from the heat shield also. looking to find some. do they need to be a certan type of bolt beings that they are in a high heat area? i thought that the two catch cans were a little much myself. you think i can do away with the one between the intake and valve cover? am i to understand that the phenolic intake spacer is to keep the air charge from being heated for a better charge? if so that is a good idea. thanks for all the input, you are super helpful!

you got any suggestions for what i should do next? i mean after the clutch obviously! lol i am looking to up the horse power... thinking somewhere in the area between 300-350. is that obtainable with out going too far in?

i was thinking of pulling the motor/trans, but this is going to be done in a drive way, so i am thinking just the transmission. just drop the whole thing enough to pull the transmission. but on the other hand it probibly would be easier to pull the whole thing:dunno2:

do you know anything about these? http://www.maperformance.com/spec-stage-2-clutch-kit-srt-4.html

Spec clutch is trash for the srt4 sean and I said ACT for a reason it's the best one out there with the least amount of issues and I have experance with clutches on these cars

:sorry: lol... was just curious. i am going to go with the ACT. just looking around thats all. from what you two have said, and all that i have read that is the best route to go. i sent an e-mail to Nick on the link that was posted yesterday. got a reply right away. he told me he can get me the clutch for $420 shipped, and the clutch and flywheel for $640. hell of alot better than the $800+ that i found it for!

if things go right with my and my girls money this week i will be able to get it next friday (24th) and have it in that weekend.

the first thing i would do would be to get a legit exhaust lol.

you can get to the 300hp mark on the stock turbo...it takes an incredible amount of work
    to get there though.

your best be would be to look into the agp kits, or buy a stage 3 mopar turbo and do the fuel/tuning mods yourself.

what ever turbo setup you end up using you need to do the ground work before you get your power to that level. things that need to be done first include: clutch, hardpipe and BOV, fuel pump, injectors, and a tuning device. the agp kits, specifically the stage 3 delta kit come with everything you dont already have, and could easily reach your horsepower goal.

i wouldnt be too sure that the head was off the car, my head constantly looks much cleaner than the rest of the engine bay.

I wouldnt put the bolts back in the heatsheild unless its making noise and its bugging you. if you put them in, there is a good chance you wont be able to get them out when you want to.

im putting a lot more power through the same clutch and its doing great. as long as its an 04/05 the axles will hold up. ive only ruined one axle....the car was stock...a hardy launch followed by wheelhop killed it.

I rented a crappy little trailer there off of Coors:drugs:, and the chick I dated there, her folks lived off of Unser... bet it has changed alot since i was last there in '99! got alot of crazy stories about that place! lol I cant thank you enough for all the help, it is good to know there are people like you and all the others on here!:ilovesrtc:

well, been pretty much babying my car since that clutch started making that noise:baby:...except for when i corrected the vac issue with my turbo:whistle:.. anyway i was driving it home from work yesterday, got all the way home took it out of gear in the driveway and was rolling up the windows and noticed something...no noise, none at all...WTF? it has me wondering if there was anything wrong at all:dunno2:, what do you guys think? I am not having any issues with slippage, goes into gear easily, shifts easily... like i said there is no issues at all now. been reading alot about the noises that clutches make... could it an aftermarket clutch? when i drive it the clutch is very firm, and it grabs quick. the reason i ask is that i have had the car for a month, and have no idea what has been done to it i.e. the screwed up vac lines
