Ok, one thing remains, the "check engine" light goes on every now and then, I get no troublecode from the predator but if I give it the "clear all troublecodes" command the light goes out.
Sometimes its just enough to turn the car off for say a minute and start it up again, sometimes I have to erase by the predator.
In one out of four times it starts to change gears really rough, going from nutral or park into either reverse or drive its really rough sending a small chockwave through the transmission.
There is no way of checking the fluid level in the tranny that I know of but maybe the level is just to low?
    Help appriciated!

Try doing the key dance when the code comes up to see what codes are set.

Turn the key to "on" (not run)
Let all the lights stop flashing
Then quickly cycle the key between off and on 3 or 4 times.

The codes will show in the EVIC where your mileage usually is.

Have you done anything to the tranny that would make you think it was low? You can check the fluid with a long zip tie, Miller tool, or the MB tool. Should be around 65-70 mm up the "stick" when to temp.

I haven´t done anything to the transmission more than abuse it, and not a lot at that.
Tried the "key dance" but nothing came up, erased the code again and will try again next time.
If that doesn´t help I´ll take her to a shop to see what they can come up with!

When you say nothing came up, did you at least see the word "Done" to know you did it correctly...Maybe try resetting tranny adaptives.

    No, I mean nothing.
    Ok, the procedure:
    1. Insert key and turn to "ON", wait untill all lights go out accept for seatbelt, red lightning and airbag (and also "check engine"
    2. Turn back off, emediately turn back to "ON", then the question is right back off again or wait until all the lights go out?
    3. Recycle three or four times. (?)

Still up even though I erased the code earlier today I can still try and get it right so I will manage the next time around.

If you have activated the code readout display then it will flash codes for a second or two each until it gets to the end of the list. then I think it displays "------" and then "Done"? not sure about the "Done" part. or maybe "End"?

In any event you should see something displayed if you have initiated the sequence (whether there are codes or not). The thing with the predator code reader is that I have the impression that they don't display/recognize some of the Chrysler specific codes? not sure about that either.

lol, I'll have to try it again on my way home tonight.

Ok, all I get now is "------" and then done, but now I know what to do.
Got a friend coming over with a digger tomorrow to start planning my driveway, I have 30 tons of stone to put on it, my back cant wait...
So no time tomorrow but I´ll post as soon as I got the code!

Whew, glad it's you and not me...Sounds like it may be in the tune though. Have you tried resetting the adaptives?

I haven't hooked up my predator in a while, but I think it's under quick adjusts. It should say something like transmission adaptives.
Have you ever had it serviced? How many miles? I think recommended is 35k miles.
Simple to do, just drop pan (you will need to remove tranny support and support rear of tranny with with jack stand), replace filter, check & clean pan and magnet, replace pan, add 4 quarts Mopar ATF +4. Done.
I've heard of people complaining about rough shifting from filter being dirty.

8 weeks of vacation????? Daumn...i've ben with my current company for 18 years, and i am offered 2 weeks...last year was the first time i took a whole week off at one time in 15 years. Wife and I went on a cruise. Trip was incredible, but the hassle of finding suitable child care was not worth it. I have never used my vacation time offered, honestly, i can't. Being the guy in charge has it's problems.

I have less than 15.000 miles on it, 23.000 km to be exact, pretty much brand new!
Next time the troublecode comes up we´ll see, appears to come randomly, yesterday it came on by the next startup, today after about 10 starts no code.
About the vacation, normal in Sweden is 6 weeks a year, from day one!
I work two jobs during winter and save up some, plus I still have parental leave left on both kids so, this year so far will be 3 weeks in Florida (late april early march) and 8 weeks for the summer, the plan is to be off for three weeks at chrismas as well...
Can´t keep that up forever though, but at least 8 weeks a year off is what I "need" to be able to appriciate family, cars, bikes etc.
No point in having toys when you can`t play with them!!!
Sure, we pay a lot more taxes than you do, especially the employer, but we DO get some benefits...
Ulrica is working again though, so I have a blast with the kids!

Alright, the light came on again, so when Ulrica got home I went out to do the "key dance".
"Check engine" is lit again, I check that first, then I do the key dance, nothing!!!
It just reads ------ and then -done-, do the same and get the same results.
Figured I´d take her out and see if its in some kind of limpmode, I´ve had the feeling before but never tried it for real, so I start her up and the bloody light is off. No "check engine", can anyone explain this???

I believe if your engine is not running the "check engine" light will be on to tell you there may be a problem (i.e. the engine is not running)

    sorry, just couldn't resist.
