04 PT Cruiser GT all stock. has a BOV installed. has had teh 300/304 coda for 5 days now. all plugs appear to to be lean misfire. has has 4306 and champion copper cores and new plug wires, premium chevron fuel. rough idle only. runs great when you are on it hard of just cruising. changed out the coil pack no difference. so i am thinking a manifold leak? or fuel pump>? what do you all think
do you have the alummum or plastic manifold. the alummum ones tend to lean out #4 most people that ive read from on PT crew and PT links fixed it by swapping to the plastic manifold. basicly the first thing that pops into mind. but what you could do first is boost leak test to see if you do have a leak in the manifold or else where that would cause it to run rough. if its still running lean then you may wanna get a new pump just to be safe.
I have the aluminum one. i have always wanted to put the plastic one on ill call get a price on a the manfold. will teh brakets on teh back bolt on to teh plastic one?
Don't know about the codes...but my wife's Cruiser has always idled a lot rougher than the skittle. She would constantly complain to me about it. I did the whole change plugs / wires non-sense and it still didn't help. I found there was some kinda service thing sent to the dealers, that says the fix required a CPU re-flash. So I just told her she is going to have to deal with it, 'cause I'm not going to spend $100 the dealer wants to flash it. BUT HER CAR ISN'T THROWING ANY CODES EITHER...so not sure if that will help.
it should i havent read anything that says otherwise. theres 2 bolt/screw on the back of the manifold that bolt to the bracket behind the coil pack on the plastic one.
there is a ecu software update i had that same exact problem and got my car reflashed and it has been months since i got it done and no check engine light, also check to see if your intake gasket is leaking that also can cause a misfire i just recently replaced mine, spray throttle body cleaner where you intake gasket is while running and if your idle bogs down as if its about to shut off then you have a leak.
