2003-04 Cobras are around 3,900ish lbs as sir Mains stated...if you look at the car its not a small car...not meant to be...there are things you can do to put it on a diet haha
GT500s are 3860lbs with the optional shaker 1000 audio system, 3790 w/ the standard shaker 500. Considerably lighter. They also make 440rw stock and 490-500rw SAE with just a tune.
What do you think will be different in the production version? I'm sure it was an all options model but it's still not going to make a huge difference.
S197s are ~3600lbs (coupes). The '10 Mustang GT is coming with a 400hp/360tq 5.0L 4v (revised Modular) and will check in at 3550lbs. It's a done deal.
i keep hearing more about the lardish size of the chally and man i'm getting disallusioned. I was gonna switch to the vert but looks like the vert will be 4300# if they build it!
meh Maybe I am just getting forgetful in my old age... I coulda swore the sn197 GT500 was over 4k... Oh wells
Owners who have taken them to actual scales have found them to be a few lbs lighter. With a different K-member, A-arms, and lightweight battery one owner on svtp has gotten his down to 3680.
I didnt know how much weight you can save with K members until i looked into swaping my motor in my old stang... if you were REALLY concerned with weight (and had money to spend) you could do the CF hood/roof/decklid...that would drop a few lbs
If someone made them they would help. The stock hood is composite and doesn't weigh a ton anyway. A Ford GT aluminum block swap would save ~80lbs off the front end, but isn't very cost effective either. Additionally, switching to lightweight forged wheels and Brembo monoblock calipers can save 15-20lbs per wheel of rotating, unsprung mass.
Yeah, a few of the RR fiends have done it and definitely noticed a difference. I should've said that 10lbs of that is rotating/unsprung, the calipers are obviously just unsprung. :stars:
