I got a new TruFiber CF diffuser for the Charger. I have it on. BUT. Does anyone know how to get those metal pressure clips (NOT, the plastic pushpins, those are easy) back in place??? My hands won't even BEGIN to fit into the crevice, that is necessary for them to go in!! I got the ones on the end back in, cuz those are easy to reach. Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Short of the bumper coming off, you need someone with thin hands. What you can do is try to get them in place with your fingers and see if you can grab them with a set of needle nose pliers and pull them down into place. They are a bitch to get back on. If you can jack the ass of the car up so you can see, its not as bad.
I was waiting for you to chime in Steve. Thanks. That's basically what I did. I'll have to wait til I can get the car out again & take it back to MP Fab. I hope if I can get her on a lift it might be easier. I had the ass of the car in the air in the garage today, and wasn't getting anywhere.....
When you get up under, if you go up by the tail pipes there is a little more space. I don't know how big your arms are, my wont fit, but if you are a little thinner than I am you could probably get your arm up and around the bumper itself to get over and push the pins in. The middle piece is where it will be not that much fun. This would be 100x's easier if you have the car on a lift. I was doing it without even having the car jacked up. I ended up using the long needle nose pliers and actually a crowbar. I held the pin in place with the pliers and put the head of the crowbar on it and used that to push the pins in. Just have to be careful you don't snap or bend the pins if you do it that way.
I did this mod last March, and it's a big pain the the a$$. Like Steve says above, having a lift is a big help. Ken
Not yet. Car has been on jackstands in my garage for two weeks. Hoping that comes to an end this week, lol. But I will get it remedied next week FOR SURE.
Been thinking about this one.... Ken.... don't know if you'll see this... Is the diffusser a good fit or did you have to do much "finess" work to get it to fit perfectly.
