I think VIS needs to use more watermarks.
That way I could see less of the $1300 hood.

(no offense, Kris. I know you're just using their supplied photo)

If they do one like Jimi's photoshop, I'd consider it:

Have the cowl that same height, but keep going back toward the windshield another couple of inches, and retain the same angle as the windshield (and leave room for wiper travel and hood opening), and it'd be a massive $1300 winner.
It would be my next major purchase.

I seem to remember one of the guys on the VTCOA tried to stop by VIS and see one of their CF hoods in person....and were denied.

Some one needs to make carbon fiber 300c front fenders. I know fatchance has them but I called the place he said he got them from and they said they never made any fenders ever.
Better yet a front frescia would be the hardest thing I have ever seen

If there was enough demand we could probably get something like that done...that hood design is sweet!

And totally do-able, even with the extended cowl.
    I measured today.

The demand *might* be there. I'm not sure on how hot the hood market is right now.
Many regular Ram owners 'upgrade' to the SRT-10 hood.

Yeah this would not be SRT only and there are a hell of alot of 03-07 rams out there with the same hood design from th factory,

We only need 20 orders to get TruFiber to make a custom hood, but I can probably get them down to 10. so if you think there is that kind of interest ... maybe we should look into it! I'd need a stock hood and all the specs for the new design, so see who else wants one and we can get this going!

    Hmmm....interesting.
If anyone has a CAD file of the OEM SRT-10 hood, I'd be happy to do the design.

    - Would the custom hoods retain the same price as the original ($1300)?
    - Would the person that sent in the OEM hood receive a discount on their hood order?
    - Confirmed orders?
    - Deposits? (percentage?)

My only other concern would be heat. The Viper engines put off about 2x the heat of the HEMI engines. They run VERY, VERY hot.
    - How much heat can the CF hoods take before they begin to warp/crack?

This raised cowl design should help with heat dissipation, but it will still remain a factor.
