Well as some of you may know I had purchased a vortech for my Jeep and on the dyno the engine was blown. When I ripped it apart a week later, 3 broken pistons. What did I decided to do, sold the blower and purchased a new engine. This was all within the time of spring feast. I sold the blower and 2-3 months later I get a call, "I just installed the blower, belt ripped and something is wrong with the blower." Great. Now, was the blower working when I took it off, yes damn blower had less than two thousand miles on it. Now, trying to be nice I am stuck paying 1/2 of a new blower around $730.00. WTF?

Next, I decided screw it, I want a blown 426, and since techco is so close to me I go over there trying to make a deal. I am blown away by there facility and staff, thanks carlos and ned. I am told get us all the parts here and we will make it happen. Luckly they make a May Sale, purchase a blower or engine and receive free installation. I purchased Bill's nag 1 and transfer case. I send my mondello heads out to get repaired.

Heads story for you guys, I wait 3-4 weeks to get my heads repaired and everything checked and finally they get shipped out. I paid over $1,000 for new springs and the works and they get to techco. Next morning my phone is getting blown up and not a surprise its Mondello and Steve calling me. What a damn coincidence that when I call either one, they don't answer my calls. Steve rushes over to techco because he believes they accidently sent me the stage 3 heads and mine are in florida broken. WTF??? Broken and I had just paid for them to get repaired. Ends up the heads at techco were my heads and blah blah blah. By this time I am pissed off and I put the heads for sale 1500.00 takes them. They sell, and I am waiting on cores, not a problem. But at this point, how the hell do I know those are the heads mondello sent me? Being local competition, for all I now they could have been swapped. Steve is very competitive, and has a kick ass Jeep and doesn't want to lose, no hard feelings.

Finally, techco says we have some heads and your engine is almost done. Heads is what we were waiting on, and now finally everything is there. At this point they have my Jeep, all components and I am excited as hell.

This Jeep is my passion ask any Socal member on here and they will tell you I raced my Jeep and I try to attend most events. I am hooked on these damn forms for crying out loud. When I am not home I am on my damn phone looking at them. For 3-4 months I have not attended anything except gone to watch races because I my jeep has been out. It pisses me off because when I am pissed off or stressed I take long drives in my Jeep to calm down. Now, how the F#@* do I do that.

Last, week some stuff goes on at techco and they are on the move. If any representative from techco will like to address the situation and tell us what is going on please feel free. I am told hey your engine will be done on Wednesday, but umm we can't do the install. WTF??? Okay, I say we had a deal on the install. Well we will take care of it and you choose a shop and they will pay the bill. So I am like cool the only person I trust with my Jeep on the west coast is CAM.

Well so happens I have to go out of town Wednesday-Monday, now I get back and I have no damn idea where my Jeep is at and what the hell is going on. No body answers my calls, I get a text saying your engine will be delivered. WTF???

Just got off the phone. With Wayne, passed the phone to Jimmy and they were pretty surprised, and said they will give me a call back. I will wait for the call. It just pisses me off that my Jeep has been there untouched for 3 months. I am not sponsored and have my receipts and still this type of things occur, come on guys. I was trying to put your name out there as much as going for a ten second 1/4 mile.

So, what do I do I am already past 20 grand into my build and have **** to show for it. Why do people sell product, and can not provide in a timely fashion.

Now what? do I get there engine and if it blows, I am f@#$ed. Or are they even willing to give me my money back plus my block.

Thanks, Cam for taking my build in without even knowing if there is a build. If you need me to pick up my Jeep I will have it towed home and look for a stock 6.1 and call it a day.

Looks like techco screwed me, and well no more wasting time on this b.s. and after I finish college I'll just buy me a even more kick ass car, if there is one out that I like better than my Jeep by that time.

Sorry this was long but just want everyone to know what is going on.

I will take my money back and money for extra block, and a stock 6.1 for my Jeep.

Wow, sounds like a nightmare. Good luck with getting things straightened out. That is the sucky part about trusting people you don't really know.

Ummm, ok, I'm confused... let me try to recap to the best of my understanding.

    1) You got a Vortech and the motor blew on the dyno.
    2) You sold the Vortech blower to someone. 3 months later they said it was broken so you paid for half a new blower for them.

    3) You decide you want a Techo blown 426. Techo says get the motor parts to us and we'll do it. Buy a motor or a blower and installation is free.

I am not clear here but I'm assuming you purchased a blower? and you were supplying the motor? Or you sort of bought both? Buy blower, supply engine components and they would build the whole thing for you? I assume you were going to pay for the engine build?

    4) Mondello heads take 3-4 weeks. Steve thinks they sent you the wrong one but they didn't. They sent you the right one after all. false alarm.

    5) Techo decides to move and can't do the install but offers to pay for it to be done at the shop of your choice. Ok.

    6) Techo has/had the motor put together and now everything, including the blower has to be installed. So things need to get to Cam for the install.

You didn't include dates but it sounds like you have
    1) a Techo assembled 426 with Mondello heads
    2) a Techo blower
    3) Cam lined up to do the install paid for by Techo

Any reason to believe that Techo wouldn't stand behind the engine assembly? or didn't they do that part. I'm confused on all that.
Am I missing something completely here?

I think he is venting about the delays (which have been common lately), some setbacks and the fact that the original plan is not being followed thru on. Oh and its been over 3 months now.

Dont throw in the towel yet it will be a sick build when done you have all the components needed. CAM will get you fixed up (might be a while he's a busy man QUICK just put his ass in check to get back to work).

Now are you wanting CAM to rip out and start over and go over everything?
Is your new tranny and other stuff from Bill installed? (better get his billet converter)

    I am suppose to have

    Techco 427 Longblock
    Techco 3.0L Blower

my jeep is at cam's shop, but we don't have the motor or blower. Not done yet, because they are moving buildings. Well at least they say they are moving.

I got confused half way through myself, but I think he has bought long block and blower from Techo, the Jeep is at Cams place and Techo is paying for install of a motor/blower he bought from them...He's been without his Jeep for 90 days and out the communications loop as well (at least to his desire)...Sounds like communication problems more than anything.
Good luck with it all...One good lesson to learn when dealing with stuff like this is patience...If things don't happen like they should and when they should, honestly, that's to be expected...IT NEVER DOES.

Wow larry...i don't recall him asking to pass the salt for that wound... :pizza:

Well on the bright side CAM will be pretty educated on fixing the Jeeps when this one is done.

08/13/09 - Techco is currently in the process of relocating and appreciate your patience during this transition.

I didn't know my post was so confusing. Sorry I was very angry, from what it looks like at this point we are missing the longblock, don't know if I will get it since techco has closed during their move. I am not sure if it is just a move they are doing.

Why? What would give you any indication of that? I believe it's legit.

Ahhh, Ok. So the heads are out. You ordered Mondellos, changed your mind and sold them.

You bought a Techo long block and Techo blower which you are waiting to be delivered to Cam's.

What was the date the heads got delivered?
What was the date you informed them you had picked Cam's?
Did they tell you when you could expect everything to be shipped?

Before my trip, I told them I would trust cam to do my work. Everything was suppose to be delivered to cam's shop by friday. Just got informed blower was received but no engine. I am not sure if I will get my engine.

to me this sounds like "the straw that broke the camels back" situation. With so much stress to start off, everything feels amplified.

Ned or Carlos this thread needs your attention.

Wow Eric, I'm really sorry this has happened bud. Eric has already relayed most of the story.

Here's the deal: I was contacted by Carlos a couple weeks ago to complete both Eric's and Snehals brother's charger because of the move. Last Thursday I took delivery of both vechicals and four pallets of stuff but no motors. I do have the blowers and the install kit for both. All I need is some motivation. Techco will/has already taken care of me for the installation of both cars. And I hope I have all the parts, I still need to go through all the boxes and see what's what.

Now on a not so good note. I have another Techco build here that has a belt alignment issue that concerns me. I have placed calls to both Carlos and Billy Tally but yet to hear back from them. Nothing against Carlos, I don't think he'll be able to answer my questions. I REALLY hope Billy gives me a call back.

When and if I find out anything more, all parties invloved will be notified.

    Cam,

    Way to come through bud.
If you need anything, give Lisa a shout, she may be able to help and if not can probably track down John or Billy for you.
Belt alignment can be tricky on the Techco for sure.
