Thanks!!! He really doesn't care about the burns. He doesn't like all the bandage peeling/baths. Every once in a while, we let him have a "special night" where he can sleep with us. Last night we ended up with a bed full of skin peelings. Sweet! Ha! I knew a guy who used to prove our custody transfer meters as we sell product down a pipeline. He had a large still in his garage and made whiskey. He would distill it a couple of times, and trade me a small container for an amount of beef jerky I make. WOW. Shots warmed me up like doing 2 or 3 "normal" shots.
Heck...I may need to get you a couple jars of peach shine..the good stuff burns w/o a flame....only way you can tell it is burning is by feel...I guess it can be shipped...LOL....
Wow! You got a tough little boy, Jon. He's definitely gonna have the most badass "what did you do during summer vacation" story when he gets back to school!
Im so glad it was not worse and can sorta relate to you on the reality check last year on the last day of school my son flipped his uncles gator ATV in the parking lot and somehow it tore alot of the skin off the palm of his hand I guess from him bracing himself, months of washing and wrapping it in burn cream (Silvadene) you can't even tell anything happened. I got mad at him this morning as I was helping him get ready for day camp, but something made me remember that day so I sat down and pulled him to my lap and we just talked, he was late for camp and I was late to start my day but I didnt care because I still have him just like you have your son.
It really is amazing how fast and well the human body heals itself. I spent a while pulling skin off of that elbow last night...the discolored skin extends half way to his wrist...it looks tan but has a hard feel to it.
I don't know that name, but we are using whatever the Burn Center in Salt Lake gave us...with great results so far!
