The article only mentions no Z28. The SS numbers are still pretty formidable, 6.2L V8 with 400-450 HP. Looks like it will be on par with the Challenger.
I agree... There is still a Camaro and the SS looks close to the Challenger. A Z28 might have also not made sense due to it competing with their Z06. Both are Chevys after all. Or said differently: how many people pay over $50k for a Chevy Camaro. I personally don't give a damn about name brands, but too many people do (well not quite true, I still wouldn't buy a Kia even if it had twice as much HP for the same price as my SRT) .
The article states only the Z28 (Z/28) option is getting axed. There will be a base model and a Super Sport, but no Z28. Had the entire program gotten the ax (which I've always worried about), I would have said "EPIC FAIL". Since it's only one option, I say "FAIL".
Hasn't the Z28 always been less powerful when compared to the SS? Seems like GM could've pissed off a few hardcore chevy guys with this anyways...kind of like when the Charger came out with 4 doors! LMAO.
they were going retro when the z28 was the top tier camaro. just like the zr1 is now for the corvette. i would have been one of those guys to shell out 50k for the camaro. a blown camaro straight from the factory?????? you would be nuts not to go with it. warranty + FI = holy shit the mods that would come out....
lol cmon tam, these guys would be well above the class of stoplight racers. no 16yr old kid can afford to drive a 50k car.
