Like I said, I hope it snows like that again. That's my kind of "blizzard." :bigwink: EDIT: You know what...I have a picture somewhere. *runs to find them*
Ok, since I'm just a SoCal kid and am not real knowledgeable on snow issues...I'll let our resident SnowHo give us his definition of how much snow we got based on these three pics. EDIT: I'm thinking tops 3"...but that seems like to high an estimate to me.
AWESOME!!!! That is a horrid blizzard, I'm glad you all survived :friends: :friends: :friends: Say, where I come from, we have these trick sticks they call rulers! You could try one of those, they get pretty close on how much snow fell
Yeah, it was pretty touch and go there for awhile. I think we'd have all died had we not had our super tough off road machine to get us though. EDIT:http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/f12/i-love-my-wife-13134/ The Mrs. PT Cruiser really saved us that day...LoL!
Hey I live in Georgia now...we don't have all that new fangled Technology stuff that y'all folks from California get. :tooth:
Let me show you what WE deal with.....and why I hate winter lol..... PS....this picture was taken at NOON when I was leaving work one day.....
LoL...yeah, I like our snow better. We hardly ever get snow in and around ATL. If it does, it's usually so light it doesn't stick to anything. Our "blizzard" was only one day, the snow kept maybe for a week, but the roads were shut down for three days. Because ATL gets such a little amount on snow, the local DOT is just not equipped to handle it. Unless you had mad driving skills, or a super off road machine like me...:bigwink:
Oh, that storm was like 2011. The "blizzard" that hit before the '11 storm...I think it hit in 1993 or 1994.
They wont send trucks out here until there is 6" on the ground hahahaha People here (by no means ALL people) are just able to drive when the roads arent perfectly dry hahahaha
WOW!! Now that was some snow - really makes me love sunny SoCal At least for the Sun anyway!! :friends: :friends: :friends:
I can send y'all one of those trick sticks I'm talkin about - LOL They even gave me one when I was in elementary school :smart: :smart: :smart:
People out here can't drive...even when the roads are perfectly dry. That's why there is mass panic when they aren't. LoL!
We have several ski resorts close by Usually only 3 to 6" where we are in the desert - these days anyway. Used to be several FEET per year but that was before global warming. When I was a kid it would take two weeks for the snow to melt off and a whole day just to get outta the driveway. Lived on 10 acres in the rural area, raised by wolves. :future: :future:
As I said, I went to work during a snow storm that dropped 39" in one shot lol. We dont get stuck around here hahahaha
Now that is SERIOUS abuse!!! You should be turned in to CPS! (Car Protective Services)
