Tough to say...lots of talk about it, and if it were up to me we'd support everything with a turbo under the hood....but we have to see the market there, and there are still too many 4.7 Rams out there right now, so thats next on the list for the moment.
Thanks for the fast response, I hear you with the 4.7 out there, I see them everywhere, on another forum we have tons of support for you guys and want to see one soon, hopefully. Is there a test car out there for you guys right now?
It is funny to see how we don't get the same answers from the same company on this!! http://www.caliberforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16056&highlight=diablo&page=13
Don c. from diablo (SCGT94) is posting in this thread telling everybody that they are working on some caliber PCM etc... just look again, the thread is big!!
I saw that. That sounds like hes working on some custom PCM (that the DS tuners may work with?). That's a whole different ball game than a tuner that works on the Caliber (with Chrysler's PCM). With respect to the tuner supporting the Caliber they've consistently said that (currently) the market is just not there. (translates to: there are much bigger markets they currently don't support and resources are committed to those).
There is lots of support out there for the CSRT4, on a few of the forums we are being told that there is a test car out there, and there is tons of people out there with CSRT4 that are just sitting back waiting to get a tuner instead of buying the Stage 1. And on your guy's own website forum there is screaming for a CSRT4 tuner, everyone says predator, saome say Trinity, so what is the Truth?lease:
There is no truth at the moment....this is all speculation at this point. The official 'GO' for the Caliber project has yet to happen.
It' crazy eh Black how we hear different things from different Daiblo guys saying what's going on with the Diablo tuner.
I can assure you it will never happen in Predator. If it happens, it will be Trinity for sure, but again, it is not on the table at the moment.
You guys have to understand....we are a hardware company. Period. We make a living by producing and selling hardware. It makes little to NO sense for us to spend time engineering new applications that have a limited base. Considering there are probably 10X as many 05-10 4.7 rams on the road right now vs. the number of Caliber SRT4s, it is not a tough decision for the bosses to see where we need to go next. Neon SRT4 was a lucky dog, since it shared a PCM with the HEMI cars which we had already developed. It took our engineers all of a few days to create the U7134 Part number, simply because it was already there. Getting into the Caliber is not that easy, and unless the folks at Chrysler decide to start using that same PCM in a bunch of other vehicles that will need a tuner, it is going to be tough to justify the time/cost associated with the development. SO, its not about no love...believe me, if it were up to me, we'd be doing Vipers, Caliber SRT4s, SRT6s, and more....but there has to be a market for selling thousands of tools, or it is just not feasible.
I understand that 100%. What I had a problem with is the fact that we got some hope from somebody at your company when now we all know it is not going to happen (unless other platforms share the same PCM or similar). Now I own a 300C srt-8 and I love my Predator!! :mains:
Yeah...I think Don was a little over excited about this project, and he really wanted to (and still wants to) do it, but it has to make sense first...
