I have a Dewalt, standard buffer with speed settings.Stay with foam pads and a good polish and you will not have any problems...I have used alot of polishes and Wizards products has worked the best for me...
Reply Google the Flex XC 3401 VRG. I heard a lot of good things about these. They are pricey though and very hard to get. The cheapest that I have seen them is for $264.99 at Detailed Image.com. I have a regular Flex rotary and like it a lot but I am ready to pull the plug on the XC 3401 VRG. These are German made and have excellant quality built into them. If someone can google and post a pic of them that would be nice. I don't really know how to do that. Rich
I have had both the PC and the Griots Garage.... I have the Griots Garage model now..... They are both very nice. BUT - The Porter Cable 7424 model is better. I used it for 5 years (professionally) before it gave up the ghost. :bang: (3-6 cars/day) That is something.... It's a very nice Random Orbital Buffer. :salut::good: The Griots Garage model is getting loud already.... and I am out of the business these days, maby used it 4 times. :dunno2: Griots Garage PADS are VERY nice tho. They're much better than Meguires pads. :bigwink:
Here is a link to a review of the Flex XC 3401 VRG (with pics and comparison to a Makita and Porter Cable). http://autopia.org/forum/machine-polishing/97686-flex-xc-3401-vrg.html
VERY cool! ... I'm familiar with the FLEX rotary buffers, but have never seen a "DA" version! k: What a nice machine!!!!!
I use, http://pros.servicemagic.com/products/Porter-Cable-LK302VE.html but I'm not a nub with a polisher. A nice foam pad and a good glaze and there is nothing better.
Reply Quick, thanks for the link on the Flex XC 3401 VRG. That was very informative and probably the machine that I will end up with. Thanks again, Rich
what do you guys think about this one? http://autopia.org/forum/ultimate-d...-detailing-machine-project.html?highlight=udm

I had a Flex for a day and sold it. Once you go Makita, you cant go back! The Porer Cable is an excellent machine also. It has its place in detailing. The right combo of paint, pads, and product is really the trick.
ok this is the one i want so what do i need to get with it? one of the kits or just the pads alone? http://www.autogeek.net/ultimate-detailing-machine-da-polisher.html i need a good starter kit to wax and polish my truck. thats what i want. I have been using Mothers corinuba(sp?) wax is that a good choice and can i use it with this polisher. if so what pad should i get to put it on and what bonnet should i get to take it off?
Tropic-care, a vendor here on the forum, has the PC buffer. Great product and the guys will take good care of you there. Won't hurt your paint and they have all the pads, waxes, polishes, clay bars, etc, you need.
Be sure to check out our new site at www.tropi-care.com as some of the product combinations and kits have changed. Buffers such as the PC, UDM Or Flex are great for beginners or novices as they are user friendly and can not damage the clear coat unless dropping the machine on the surface.
