Bud (NA) vs. Momo (Vortech) Race Videos

The first two races are a measured out 1/4 mile. I asked Jason to brake at the 1/4 mile point since I was holding a camera. Prior to these races and with 5.5-6 lbs of boost and a conservative Vortech tune Jason was able to beat me by a car length. After returning to Vortech for a pulley swap (7-7.5 lbs of boost). Jason had a half tank of gas and weighs 200 lbs on a good day. I had 3/4 tank of gas and weigh 230 lbs. YOU be the judge!

Race #1: 1500 rpm roll...pretty even start.

Hey, I know that area! Lol! Good vids there Rick. You need to take both hands off the wheel so the drivers will be even...Lol!

 

That blower really takes it up top. Now after some custom tuning he'll be able to take you down low too.

 

Jees Rick, what is this "from a roll" stuff. You're letting him spool up his blower...

That was a good comparison for what you're getting up top though. Get that roots you're looking into.

He has the Vortech tune that was made for the 7# pulley, still pretty conservative at WOT.

 

They put on a smaller pulley and did not adjust the tune at all?

No, they have a new tune, just very "safe" as before, just set for the extra pound.

 

Those were some good, controlled test runs on empty roads... On the first video, when we hit 2nd, you can hear some squeeling... I started getting sideways and had to let off the gas... When I got back On it, that's when I took the lead.

Btw: I didn't get up to 120 in the last video!!!

 

Pay in mind folks that the kit the public is getting right now is with the larger 5.5 lb pulley and not the 7.0 pulley. So, consumers are getting a less powerful blower setup....correct me if I'm wrong R&D guys.

The production kit has a 6 pound pulley. Vortech has been happy with our data on the 7# pulley, so I wouldn't be surprised if it made it to the public in some way, shape, or form.
