I have some bad news for your wallets Vortech owners. Like the title says, if you own a Vortech blown LX and you were worried about BT valve covers fitting there is no need to worry. They fit...and they're damn sexy. Thanks to MOL at Show and Performance for helping with the install! We had a few other projects yesterday too, so only the driver's side got done. I'll get the passenger on next weekend. Sorry for the dark pics, it was pretty late when we finished up. See Ron, I told you mine looked better.
No, Chuck, it is not "They". lol Adam and Ralph only installed the easy side, errr the Drivers side. haha BUT, it is GREAT that they did this because now the Vortech guys know the VC's will fit. Another pioneering marvel.
You mean to tell me they are still working on the passenger side, or have they have deferred it until summer? Well, anyway congratulation to the Vortech guys they are indeed in luck!!!
lol "Reading" is your friend, Chuck. hahahahahahaha They had other projects going on yesterday, so they could only get the one side (most important side at that) on. I believe they will tackle the hard side next weekend? Hell if Adam would fly me out there, I could have that passenger side done in about an hour. hahaha
Yep, Ron got it right. We did paddle shifters and the BT shifter lock-out first, those took most of the day. We did the driver's side because it was the test to see if it would fit with the Vortech (no point in doing the passenger if you can't keep the driver's due to fitment). Went to a meet today so the passenger side will have to wait a little while. We'll probably do the passenger side next weekend, but its a LOT more work.
crap, thanks to this working with the vortech system i guess i am going to have to go and make more money. now i am upset and broke. hahahahahaha
Looks great Adam.... and way to go Show & Performance on those awesome coil packs it was a good idea!
which is? Loosen motor mounts and shift motor to the drivers side?....I HATE the bottom bolt on passenger side nearest firewall....Whenever i do anything on that side, i always start with that bolt...takes me about the same time on that bolt as all the rest combined...Half a thread at a time.
No, I know the easy way. But since we were just doing the driver's side we left the motor in the cradle and just pulled the intake and moved the coolant bottle. We're going to lift the whole motor and trans together to do the passenger side.
nope......you don't know the easy way......lol.......just slide it over towards the drivers side......you don't need to lift anything.the 2-3 " shift is more than plenty to make it easy......so easy both sides would have been a breeze in an afternoon.
