Well Eric, we'll see how fast Dave Zeckhausen brings something to market. He seemed pretty convinced that this was going to be an issue for a lot of guys.

It will be tough to beat the $120-$150 each for reconditioned calipers. The only difference might be that DZ's solution could be a permanent fix.

At this point I have to assume that my fix will only last me two years and 30,000 miles. Same specs+ same driver+ same environment = same results.

I just wanted to post an update, I finally took my car into the dealer to have this looked at. They replaced my calipers under warranty at 29k miles. They described the pistons as "splitting". I was unable to get any newer photos, but I have new front brakes now

I know this thread is super old but wanted to know if their are any updates?
I'm replacing left caliper with only 15K on car, replaced seals and boots in 09, had signs of flaking back then, when I was replacing pads this week piston it was hard to push back and I'm assuming that the rough edge scared the seal and started to leak, so I didn't bother ordering a seal kit since their is no source for new piston,Centric has a reman caliper that I sourced locally.
    Any info would help.
