    The housing bubble started filling in the 90's...Bush had nothing to do with it. He was just unlucky enough to be in office when it burst....

    And gas prices are set by crude prices which are (were) set by OPEC.....which, oddly enough, isn't run by our government...weird.

    Obama=idiot.

    Maybe in California, but that is not representative of the rest of the US. Home prices actually declined and lost equity in 1990 and 1991. There was a steady increase through the mid to late 90's but nothing indicating inflation. Home prices and equity grew 2000 to 2006 at an astonishing rate. Simple supply and demand. More people getting mortgages that they couldn't afford created unrealistic demand. Unrealistic demand led to reduced supply and thus inflation. Over the last 12 months housing prices have dropped over 20%, especially in your neck of the woods.

    As for your comment of OPEC not being tied to our government. I don't have the time nor the energy for that conversation. But think of OPEC as the drug pusher and we the American people as the addict. In fact we represent 25% of the drug pusher's business. If we suddenly have an appetite for another drug or in this case an alternative fuel/energy solution isn't it in the drug pusher's best interest to lower the cost of his drug making it more affordable? We have such a short term memory when it comes to history.

    I wonder what ever happened to Moammar Khadafy? Known terrorist, known al qaeda supporter, known to harbor terrorists and terrorist training camps? We know exactly where he is and yet he walks the earth in no fear from the US. Why? Because we have the worst short term memory of any civilized nation on the planet.

    Soon we'll be paying $4.00 a gallon for gas again and of course that'll be President Obama's fault. No memory. No memory at all and too lazy to do the research.

    finally we agree on something, yet your knowledge of the housing market is again faulty....we can go into that sometime later. youre dead on though regarding mortgages people cant afford....

    opec is indeed a drug pusher that we cannot rid ourselves of. bush and mccain have opened up off shore drilling but what will obamas first executive order be? oh yeah, cancel the off-shore drilling and "research" other alternatives.....

    same old fucking story, liberals talk, conservatives do. hell, we may not be right 100% of the time but we get shit done. something the ruling party fails to do time and time again.
