I shot this video this afternoon. I was washing the truck and I saw this large bird out of the corner of my eye, so I looked up, and saw this large Bald Eagle flying past at about 8-10 feet off the ground!! Hawks are very common here, and that was what I expected to see, but I was excited to see this magnificent bird fly past!

I waited a little while to see if he would come back, and when he didn't I went looking. It only took a few minutes to find him from the backyard, sitting high in this tree on the next street over! I snapped these pics, then went back inside for the video camera. Take a look!

beautiful. i had never seen one before i went kayaking down the snake river. i saw one pluck a fish right out of the water about 20 ft in front of me. these birds are definitely a sight to behold.

i love the fact they are now off the endangered species list. it means maybe my kids will one day see one in the same setting i did.

My first encounter with one was way back in about 1988. I was stationed in Brunswick Maine and was heading to my car. I looked up just in time to see one with a large trout in his talons flying (very) low across the parking lot, I watched until he disappeared into the trees on the other side of the lot.

    Awesome!!
