I am still shaking from this one. And for all of you that don't believe it I could care less !! I just handed an SL55 AMG his ass from a dig. This guy was in a hurry and was trying to get around me for about 1/2 a mile but there was a small amount of traffic preventing it.we caught a red light and he was able to pull up next to me at the light. It is a four lane road that narrows into two (his lane was ending about 400 yards ahead). I pulled a good three cars on him right away and that was it he did not gain an inch and I did not loose an inch. So all in all it was pretty even except the good old all wheel drive made the difference at the get go and held it till we let off. In no way did I expect that outcome I thought for sure he would get by me. It was AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing:

Yea I am the one house in Windermere that is keeping everyone’s value down. If it weren’t for my wife's family hook up I could not live here. Funny thing is the guy I beat turned down 2nd AVE. that is where there are several multi million dollar homes. My wife said he will probably be at Mercedes tomorrow trading in his SL55 AMG on a SL65 AMG while he complains to the sales guy that he just got beat by a Jeep!! :furious: So where are you in Orlando would be cool to hook up. Your car looks amazing!!

Lousy AMG-jerk, you showed him! :imao:

My Jeep could take my S55 off the line soundly, but between the 1/8 and 1/4 the S55 reels in the Jeep quick and after that, forget it, it's like the Jeep pulls up the e-brake. It's 500 pounds lighter and about 75HP and close to 100 ft/pounds of torque over the Jeep (bone stock for bone stock). The AMGs are autobahn burners for sure, but look out for some of the E (55s) running around, there's some tweaked ones running crazy 1/4s (high 10s, low 11s), but the General wouldn't know anything about that, now would you Steve? :bigwink:

I know how fast they are a friend of mine has an E55 and it is insane. I also know they are easy to mod to ridiculous levels. I can tell you he must have had his traction control on because he chirped at the line as did I and we were off no tire squealing. I was deep into third gear before we let off and he still was not gaining. Don't ask me I am as perplexed as you guys. I am sure if we would have had room to keep going he would have eventually reeled me in and walked by me.

I am at a complete loss for words I was sitting there fully expecting to get stomped. but one thing I do know is he did not spin. One thing that certainly helped me was the fact that the guy had to be in his 60's and did not look like the kind of guy that knew how to get the most out of his ride. Looked more like a retired guy with more money then driving skills. No matter what it was freaking FUN!!!

No doubt did two things (1) underestimated the Jeep and (2) overestimated his ride. The one thing the Jeep SRT in particular has going for it is stealth. Most of the time, the little SRT badge and center mounted dual exhaust doesn't get their attention, until it's too late and they're getting a good look at the arse end, and wondering what happened. With the AWD and gearing, stoplight to stoplight the Jeep will get the drop on damn near anything goin' and definitely has hurt a lot of feelings!

    Nice kill!!!

Thanks guys there is no telling what happened like most I agree the SL55 should have killed me but it did not. I agree he probably never expected that from a lowly Jeep and by the time he tried to make up for his underestimation I was sailing on down the road. The part I just don't understand is I thought for sure he would reel my right in and walk on past me like nothing but he just was not gaining. No matter what it was as are all AMG's a killer ride. :worthy:
