I decided to go with polished and ported the heads and intake and installed the Spartan cam by Inertia and saw great results. I also got a CMR email tune that made a big difference.

This run was before the CMR tune, with 10% more fuel all across the board
And 4 degrees of knocks retarded at around 4500 rpm. Was able to take of at around 2100 rpms

    12.71 pass

I was using a set of nitto 555r tires size 305/45R18. Had traction problems, I guess I needed to heat up the tires more.

This next run was after the CMR tune and with Hoosiers DRs 275/40R18. My baby was pulling hard and I was able to take of the line at around 2100 rpms

    12.606 pass

    Got much better traction...

This was the final run of the night, got the tires really sticky and was able to take off with almost no spin. I was able to take of at around 2500 rpms. KILLED THE LITTLE HONDA... :)

    12.509 pass

I was very happy with the results. The DA was around 3800 and the car temp was around 145 degrees at the lights.

Do you guys think I could hang with a stock Shelby GT500?

    Thanks

Well, a lot of people have done it...just depends on how long they do last. BTW, what is the conditions at that track in Mexico? Elevation, temps, humidity? That could be even more of a nice run!

There was a Shelby that was running high 12s and low 13s, but I have no idea if the car was stock or not, the guy had the KR 20" rims on also. I'm thinking low 12's for sure, maybe high 11's during the winter. A stock Jeep Cherokee SRT8 was running low 14s.

Thanks Chris, I'll be out of thrown next week, but the week after, I'll be looking for a Shelby GT500 at the track, hopefully I'll get it on video.

To be honest, I never expexted a 12.509, after my mods I was expecting high 12s, even told a friend I would throw a party if I got to 12.70.

Thanks a lot cam, I really try hard at it... I cool down the car with the 25 cent mod for, at least one hour and I also use smaller tires 275/40R17, among other things... So I guess the hard work is paying off. The track sits at 1800 feet and the temperature was around 90 degrees. I use to measure the DA every time I went to the drag strip last summer, but I just got tired of doing it.

Great runs Carlos! I think if I were you I'd least buy the half-shafts and have them on hand just in case you break one of the stock ones...I can't believe they're still intact.

    Based on:
    Temp: 87°
    Humidity: 70%
    Track Altitude: 1680 feet
    Pressure: 29.98 in.

Density Altitude = 4173 feet ET MPH
    Uncorrected 12.509 @ 113
    Corrected 11.86 @ 118.9

This is based on 70% humidity....so that' REALLY impressive Carlos! Here's the link if you want to plug in all the correct info...
