Like many other 300 owners, my car has started stalling after fueling up. I don't top off my tank, never have because I was aware of this problem. I did some searching here and found: 1) gas cap fixed it 2) evap canister fixed it 3) new gas tank and canister fixed it I got a new gas cap this morning after it stalled on me twice after filling up. I'll probably fill up again tonight to test if that fixed it. Any other way to test the tank vs canister? If it is the tank, it should be covered under the 8yr/80k mile emissions warranty right? I don't mind paying the $60 and doing the canister myself, but the tank is another story. Thanks guys.
holy crap Adam. This is the first I ever heard of this issue. One would think it would be covered under the Emissions warranty, but I would think that you would first have to fail emissions with the OBDII codes???
Yeah, it seems to be more of a 300 problem and more 05s than anyone. I'm hoping that my canister is just soaked. No codes at all when it happens. I know it gets crazy fat at idle and then dies. What I think is going on is that my filler neck is loose and that causes the pump handle to sag and spray gas into the 2 vents on the top of the fill opening. I guess I'll have to take the rear tires off and look at everything soon. I have a stupid question. Do the LXs have the little flapper at the top of the filler neck? I could have sworn that I had one, and now I don't see one.
I don't have one. Of course I am going off of memory. bwahahaha too lazy to walk outside and look. haha
