Anybody seen this shifter....sweet 2008-2009 Challenger unit. (I assume the threading will also fit 2005-2008 LX). I like it becaue it is more rounded for the hand. It is a Mpoar unit...anybody have a part number? I believe it is DCP-82211622. Hrere it is on Ebay for $100. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-09-Dodge-Challenger-Mopar-Chrome-T-Handle-Shifter_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33736QQihZ011QQitemZ320306941846QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Side view... ..
Good lookin piece, not too shabby at all. If I wasn't so damn loyal to Billet Technology, I'd probably get it!!
Yeah it is for the Chally...here is the actual part: http://www.bmcspeedshop.com/product_p/82211622.htm Never thought to see if it fits the LX..these are a very popular Mod for the Chally crew
It should fit with no issue Nathan, the only dif is they no longer use a knob that threads to the shaft, but the diameter is the same, 8mm.
My MOMO Super Anatomic shifter is not using the existing threads either. (yea MOMO...fu if you don't like it, I do) The MOMO uses a rubber adapter that the set screws go into and push the rubber against the shaft. I had to custom fit one of the rubber adapters to work, but it was simple, and I got it set to a good height. It is a very tight fit and will not slip. But I really like this old school type Mopar T-Handle, especially how the Mopar logo is done and even bigger plus is it makes the shaft look beefier. In the beginning I tried ot get BT to round theirs out more, but I know that is a lot of design and machine labor plus material loss. ..
Okay... You make the shifter with shaft and I'll give you the $100 for it. I rather do that than give to some un-known at Ebay. About that Ebay comment...You do take paypal, right?....lol ..
I can make the shaft no problem. But on my machine, that shifter would take me HOURS, sorry dude, not a chance. What I can do easlier is modify the mounting system and do something very cool with it. And as far as cost, man, I get real thirsty working the mill. Did you ever see my shifter??. I can do the symetrical stuff fairly easy. What I can't do is compound cutting with out taking for ever. Sorry brudder, big difference between a 50K machine and a 5K.
These units are not threaded, they are pressure fit like the stock knobs, and tension set with a set screw. Tricky to get stock one off, but they are really nice....!
