What is a Combat Controller? Must be a newer MOS as I have never heard of that before. What's wrong with being an MP, other than the Combat Engineers kicking the crap out of MP's. hahahahahaha :ronlove:
ive worked with a few CC guys they pushed hard to stay with us during some training. they can hold there own along with PJ too. also worked with a few when in MCD
Combat controllers are the Air Forces Special Forces. I worked with a few of them since I was an Air Traffic Controller in the Air Force. These guys are the real deal. All their training is alongside the Green Beret, Delta Force, Navy Seals etc..... Their mission is usually along the lines of taking over an enemy airfield, securing it and becoming the air traffic controllers while the rest of the guys show up.
Combat Controllers are SOF that are one of the first ones on the battlefield setting up drop zones prior to larger forces coming in...among other things. Honestly, it's a REALLY good career field and they go through some really good "govt" schools that would pave the way outside of the military!!
Check out this website, will provide the basics of the Combat Control career field. http://www.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=174 The CCT pipeline (like SEALS Bud) starts here in, Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. And then this website, check out the Recruits section... http://www.usafcct.com/main.htm I just finished a Joint tour in Iraq with the Army MPs...I am an Air Force Security Forces officer. It was a great experience, and enlisted MPs are some bad dudes! You warriors have lead much of fighting/policing in Iraq...
Not the same job description but they do alot of the same training etc.... The pararescue guys are sick, they are all about saving lives and are considered the elite.
thanks for the input guys. Im actually security forces in the AF, and I have wanted to do combat control ever since I signed my life away. What I really want to know is what specifically do they do water training wise and for physical training. I want to prepare as much as possible.
Jack, I am USAF/SF as well... Check this link out...http://www.usafcct.com/recruits/pipeline.htm Scroll down and see the swim requirements... Also the CCT school (pipeline) is also part of our Training (SF) group at Lackland...should be able to track down more information with them... Good Luck...
Im not exactly sure. Im still working on that, gotta finish school and get my BS first ( which will be next year ). I may have to go security forces officer first, then cross train to CC. Dunno yet.
