Actually it's a laser and not a radar... It's used for forward collision warning, cross path detection, and adaptive cruise control. It's saved my butt atleast 3 times from idiots that pull out infront of you and hit their brakes. The car will flash the mid screen red and say BRAKE! and put off an audible alert.. If you don't hit the brake it will start braking for you to give you more time to push the brake yourself. It will set off laser detectors in cars in front and is usually always on unless you disable it. When I ordered it in October I had every option they had available added... (except the front fascia delete as it was all black anyways) Even the engine block heater that I will probably never need to use here in California was added.
