I purchased the shifters a few months ago but the installer fell through. I've got the paddles and the wiring harness, and instructions. What would be any appropriate type of shop to take these to for installation? I wasn't sure if a stereo installation place or somewhere like Stack Performance would be a good choice. Any recommendations, or anyone that knows of a shop in the SOCAL area that could get it done would be appreciated.
Rick, Shoot Freebird a PM. Mark installed the shifters on both his Charger and Maggy. Well I found a GREAT How to for the paddle shifters. Here ya go. http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8122 Part II http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10238
Ricky, Why don't you hit up Drew? He did a damn good job as his stereo stuff. Maybe Sunday myself and the midget can clear a couple hours to read the instructions, drink a few cold ones and watch you and Drew install the paddles. :ronlove::friends:
I think that sounds like a good idea. However, from everything I've read it is a pretty involved install....like around eight hours. I've got my brother in town until I leave for four months Jan 2nd. I'm really just wanting to drop it off somewhere and be done with it. What type of shop would most likely be able to do this?
I don't know of any shops down here that I would recommend! Ryan at STACK PERFORMANCE is the only one that I can think of. Give him a call.
If you want to make the drive Rick (wish you would have mentioned that on the phone haha), I am sure that Ryan at Stack would LOVE to install them for you?
I just left a message with Aaron at Stack Performance. Hopefully Ryan will give me a call Monday so we can discuss it.
Got it brother. Like I mentioned in the PM, I'm not in any hurry...I just happen to be sitting on my ass right now and want to get it done at some point. Thanks buddy!
I just got off the phone with Ralph (MOL) and him and Adam are going to tackle this job for me maybe as early as Monday (schedules permitting). These guys have done so much for me and many others that I didn't want them to feel like I was taking advantage of them. I'm really excited about getting this mod done! Thanks fellas!
Sounds like you got the right guys (again). Drew would have been a good choice too. It's not so much a mechanics type job and the wiring isn't all that, it's cutting into the steering wheel and physically installing the paddles.
I am on for this mod in near future. Did you get a wiring harness from PLCMAN? Did you get the deluxe harness with the ability to add a switch to control say....line loc, or the passenger ejection seat? Of course I would hate to be coming downhill into a tight twisting corner at 55+ and I accidently turn on the line loc......yee haw! .
Switch operation is pretty clean...you would have to make a lot of mistakes at one time. Per PLCMAN: "There is an auxillary switch that has to be switched on first, foot on brake, down paddle first hold, then up paddle at the same time hold, release your foot. To release the brake let go of either paddle."
