    Chris,

Don't forget to give me a hollar when it's on. I'm there if I'm not out of town!

That may be a 9.35 before too long........I think a few guys out there this year will be stepping up. It'll be on like Donkey Kong!

To get to that point, there will need to be loads of work done to the motor AND weight reduction.

haha Just think, these motors in a light weight car will do 9's all day long.

I read all these numbers and am curious what class and what sanctioning body rules are being used to put everyone on a level playing field. For example are all cars required to use a full roll cage certified by an organization. What limits on modifications are allowed. Are full slicks allowed or only drag radials? Where can I get a copy of the rulebook for the class you are all running in?

it doesnt seem like they are running by any rules. its just kinda a sideshow event....they see what the turnout is, then get a set of rules put together for the next one.

Not sure what rules you are speaking of, but if you run at any NHRA track, NHRA rules apply. So, if your car run's faster than an 11.49 and you do not have an NHRA certified roll bar/cage installed, you will be asked to leave.

What I meant was the NHRA has certain classes of cars and the rules and requirements vary from class to class. The requirements to run in super gas are different than to run super comp or to run funny car. Each also requires a different license. In the NMCA they also run various classes, some allow slicks, others do not, some are unlimited mods and some are limited to for example having mufflers. I just wanted to know what class and sanctioning body recognises these records? I guess what I'm saying is what are the rules of this competition to be fastest?

I really can't say when I'll be ready to go yet. I still need to have a clutch built as well as a driveshaft. Then more boost!!! I think most other issues are resolved except I need some experience to figure this whole deal out. That was my reason for going to drag school with Frank Hawley. I'm hoping to make Bradenton NMCA in late March if possible. Since my car is still very much "in process" I just can't say where and when. I do know I look forward to having a lot of fun with this car. You know I wish you well now that you have the s/c installed and all the waiting b/s is done. Can't wait to see what you can do now. With no experience I'm not in the same league. But I look forward to learning as much as possible as I progress forward and hope I can run some respectable times down the line. By next year I would like to run NMCA in the eastern and midwest races as much as possible.
