All Speedfest Attendee's, Please Read.

I would like to ask something of all the participants of Ozzies speedfest event.

Please allow me to start this with a disclaimer. Our friend Ozzie knows nothing of this and will without any doubt kill me for even bringing this up. But even if he doesn't do it, my wife will at some point. So as you can see, I have nothing to lose.

Plainly stated, the event did not pay for it's self. There were some behind the scenes issues just a couple of days prior to the event that pulled funding. At that time my advice to Ozzie was to pull the plug. But he being the man he is would not even consider such an act. What they were and why this happened will not be discussed. So don't bother asking publicly or privately, I will not respond.

So here is what I ask of each and everyone of you. Did you enjoy yourself?, was it not a great day?. I understand not everything went perfect. But all things considered, I feel it was a true success and we all had a great time.

Either way I want you all to understand something. Ozzie is just an individual, no different then the rest of us. He does not own a fortune 500 company, nor is he the President of the Republic of Tasmania. He's just one of us. Someone who will take upon himself the tremendous task of assembling an event like this so that EACH AND EVERYONE OF US CAN ENJOY A TRACK DAY TOGETHER AS A GROUP.

So here is the simple math guys and gals. If all of us donated $40 each, he would come very close to breaking even. Some of you may not be so inclined to assist for that amount. But to be perfectly honest, any additional monies would help offset the cost.

Also there were several participants that paid for this day and did not list their forum name. This has lead to some minor confusion as to who the monies are to be credited towards. This may not seem like a huge deal, but it is. Please let me explain.

It seems that maybe there might have been a couple or more folks that attended the event, enjoyed the facilities, had a great time and MAYBE did not pay for the pleasure. This is still being verified and MIGHT VERY WELL BE INCORRECT. But I would like to add something. What I say at this point is strictly and solely my own comments on the matter. They do not reflect the forum, Saturdays event, Oz Speedfest, or Ozzie himself. Should this have occurred and you do not make an effort to reimburse Ozzie. You will never attend another track day that I have anything to do with and I will take it upon myself to make sure any future events that you attend with this group will be a miserable experience.

I had a blast and I didn't even have a car. It was a very well organized event and I really want to see this event continue and get even bigger and better.

Ozzie, don't be mad at Cam, because Ron and I would have done it too, with the support of our partners, staff and membership.

Well, Ozzie introduced me to road course driving and auto cross. Two things I didn't realize I'd enjoy or that I'd actually be GOOD at and Ozzie was nice enough to push me in that direction to at least try it. And for that, I'll be forever in his debt. So having an opportunity to repay him, is just awesome!! :friends: :cry: :happy:
