Although this is NOT the upcoming ThorHammer, which is under development and testing, it is supposedly very similar in design. Therefore, I expect the sound generated by each to be comparable, if not, identical.

My GC has only a few other minor mods (see sig).... no exhaust mods. This should give you an idea of what to expect. As far as HP gains, don't ask me, because I have no idea.

    Enjoy....

The exhaust is pure stock - absolutely no changes.

Undoubtedly, some of the sound is from the exhaust. Without a similar video sans AirHammer, it is kinda difficult to judge exactly how much of the sound can be attributed to the intake.

:thanks: I got my AirHammer for looks and sound primarily, so I'm not overly concerned about the "other" AirHammer thread.

If my intake ends up making real power after all of the testing, then it is just a bonus! :beerchug:

The OEM Jeep SRT8 exhaust is probably one of the most aggressive factory sytems I've heard yet.

I think Ive only seen the exhaust layout once.

Doesnt it turn and bend all over? Why is it so loud.

    Sounds great bmartin

There are many additional bends and they (DCX) definitely used some extra tubing. The only viable explanation for the OEM layout is they wanted to eliminate resonance/drone--which we now know can be done with an even freer flowing, lighter, aftermarket system. Obviously the aftermarket guys don't have to follow the same NVH constraints, or even crash test their designs.

To me, it seems some of the blame rests on the engineers' decision to run both pipes down one side. To get a symmetrical appearance at the tailpipe, they decided to split the system equally on both sides. It looks like one dual in/out resonator would have sufficed, but then you would have been able to see both pipes coming from the right side.

edit: I don't know exactly how resonators work, so perhaps separating them was a necessity.

I think clearance would have been an issue running them on opposing sides, the panhard would whack the driver's side pipe for sure. I discussed the excessive length/bends of the factory system with Al Noe former GM at Stainless Works and my earlier post was what we both came up with. Resonators may be placed side by side.

With the straight through mufflers I have on now (they are now standard on all SWorks kits vs the baffled pieces they used before) it's almost dead stock while cruising and there is zero drone. On start-up and at WOT yes it's louder, but not annoying (from the inside anyway). Compared to a Borla S (allflashnocash has the same SWorks 1 7/8" headers I do but a Borla S catback) the sound is more refined, slightly higher pitched, and significantly more crisp.
