I just want my car to Fukin run already man its been down for 2 months and this is the third time in the last year.
Well Bob at SVS can fix you up. But I think I remember you don't like him. I take it since your not talking about who's tuning it. You must be working with Slicer on this. Well I know when he hit SVS, his part throttle was falling on his face. His WOT stuff was pretty decent, but just about anybody can do that.
I'm gonna give your guy a hint. If he hasn't set the displacement value in the CMR. He'll fight forever getting the injector tables within reason. So where he may get your WOT stuff pretty good, your part throttle will suffer and visa versa. It's little more complicated then this. But if he can't set the basics, he'll never get the rest of it dialed in bud. :stars:
cam I am not dealing with slicer. I am dealing with my normal shop. Everyone I talk to says don't go to bob. What maps should my guy be looking at
Well I don't know who everbody is. izza: And we just recently went down this road about his rep. And fact was, nobody could prove anything negative about Bob. There are only three guys in the states I would have tune my ride. And not to offend anyone, I'll put them in alphabetical order. Bob, Mike Hess (Lafrad) and Steve (RDP). And be before someone blasts me with Johan, I drove three of his tunes (three different rides) at the Shindig. I'm not very impressed. I wish I could do more to help you. But you already have my suggestion.
thanks cam I am using steve as we speak that guys customer service is like no other. Why cant all vendors act like him and andy
Steve has some valid comments and concerns. However, to date, I have not experienced any cold startup issues - but it does go through a surge, but it only happens one time, mainly on initial startups. The Bwoody guys and I had the mating issue with the stock intake, even though mine is fully ported and polished. What we did was open it up as close to the gasket as possable and smooth out the edges (there still remains a gap though and IMO is disruping the incoming airflow - common sense conclusion once you look at it). Arrington was aware of this issue and at the time, that was recommended. Driveablity is fine and throttle response remains impressive and quick. This now, having the first released unit in US with some 2,000 miles on it. I have not changed the B&G tune that Dave did for me originally. On a trip to upstate NY this past summer, I got 16 MPG out of it with the cruise set on 80. I have no complaints at all. -Mark
I have been just informed of this post. Thanks! :bs: Are you kidding me? Pull yourself together Cam. What are you attempting to do here dude? You should be sure of the facts before your so quick to draw blood. Now, if it's so easy to tune the part throttle characteristics, you just made your guy look bad. Nice going. I sense some animosity in your choice of words being used... thanks for the headsup. :bigwink: First of all... I'm not tuning on this particular vehicle. Second of all... the part throttle issues were from and after the tune SVS put together on a cam swap for me and something we had to re-adjust is all. The part throttles were better and snappier on the previous cam prior to the SVS tune. The SVS tune wasn't bad it just lacked a bit of response out of the hole. Everything else was fine. I went to SVS to meet the guys and check out the place in the case we need to work together on some things. We can tune cars just fine right where we are. I here dyno Steve is good but I'd think PPP's tuner could tune the cam they sold you. Let us know how the car turns out! We want some numbers. LOl :zorro: Btw, sorry for the thread jack Sarge.
When you mill the lip the .290 it removes the gasket ring.....but did you open the intake bore a full 90-92mm to accomodate the opening of the Arrington 90mm?? Did opening or boring the throat opening create a step at the opening??
Ya, mines straight through. No lip and perfect transition. After the o-ring groove was removed, I went back and port matched the thorttle body.
Like This???? OK....you did it by hand some thing like this or did you bore by machine??? Like this... when you bore it you cant help it you end up with a step on the right and at the top. You can blend it but it is still a step and that is as far as you can go.
Ya, did it by hand but I dont have a lip like in your fist picture. Feel free to look at the rest of the pictures in my photobucket account. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h115/FlyByU/90mm/
ok so you guys milled otu the intake and are only useing the gasket the unit cam with right? I think I still have both gaskets on.
