Brent at DTP (DynoTuned Performance) in Chesapeake. I believe I'm their 6th or 7th ProCharger install (First 300), all still kickin' with no issues. Good guys, great installers and excellent tuners. The Challenger with the 426 is going to be laying down 700hp. I can't wait to hear/see that beast run. It's got all the goods - 1000hp axles, full fuel system, procharger, forged 426, builder ? transmission, etc, etc. That thing is a BEAST!

BTW, now I can get rid of the dual leaf blowers and fram filter!

Another update..we are closing in on having this unit installed on the car for a year now, and driving it every day in the S. Fla heat. At the current time I have over 16k miles on the blower and over 54k miles on the car. The Blower and all the hardware is still running great with no issues from day one until now. Tune is still the canned Vortech tune and doing great. We recently took a trip of approximately 1500 miles round trip to Tennessee and back for a car show and the car averaged about 23 MPG on the highway averaging 75-80 MPH.

The only issue we have had to date is the one part of the kit that isn't manufactured by Vortech...the MSD Boost A Pump. We have now had two issues with the pumps heating up and blowing up before the fuses even blow. After the first incident we were told there was a quality control issue at MSD and the fuses were not instered all the way causing this problem, but now that it has happened again, and we have heard of similar issues with other people, it seems like a design issue. With that said we are recommending to make sure your fuses are installed correctly if running this pump, and in the future to avoid any issues we will not be using these supplied Boost A Pump units and going bak to the tried and true boost a pumps we have used for years on other forced induction cars. (keep in mind this only affects the 6.1L kits)

All in all though the kit continues to perform well, and I would continue to recommend this kit to anyone...very reliable and fast for the daily driver!

Thanks for the update Kris. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Is there a KB boost a pump in your future?

Yes Ken, that is what we always have used in the past on S/C applications, as you know the MSD comes with the kits, but we have seen too many issues with MSD units for comfort.

Have you got any numbers on the car, like before/after insallation?
What was the actual gain, dont see any numbers...
Did you run it on the dyno?

    Kris,

Same here with the ProCharger. 78,000 miles now and 14,000 of them blown. No issues, except rear tires. LOL. I still stand by my earlier comment - go with whomever your installer/tuner is most comfortable with. Mine is up to 10+ ProChargers (that I know of) with custom tunes and has had no issues. I believe that the Vortech will be the same as long as the tune is right.

Since my last update I have passed 30,000 miles with the Vortech installed and now have over 68,000 miles total on the stock block. No new issues to report, the SC is running as smoothly as day one, still never a code or issue. The car is still driven 5-6 days a week, in all types of conditions. Still loving that Vortech whistle and power!

And to think some folks said you couldn't make it 30k on a stock block with a supercharger...go figure
