Hey guys, I have been trying to find a good CF hood for the 300c's now for a while! But all the ones I have seen are pos's. So when my friend ordered his for his jeep I thought it would look like garbage too. But to my suprise his hood is by far the nicest aftermarket hood I have ever seen. Its by a company called Trufiber in SOcal. I talked to them via email to day and they said if I can find 10 people that will for sure buy the hood they will make it for us! Here is a link to the jeep hood http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14465 It will look somthing like this. Not sure on price I know my friends was like 1100 shipped or close to it. Please post up here if you are interested. Thanks John
TruFiber huh. You should ask them about the Magnum hood they sold recently where the striker pulled out, the hood lifted, and smashed the guys windshield. No thanks, I'll pass on TruFiber.
Well yes, I would think so. At the very least the hood pins (as long as they were real ones and bolted to something solid) would have held it just fine until you noticed that the striker had let go.
you sure trufiber made the jeep hoods and not fiber images or they the same company? I know all of the jeep guys with the CF and FG hoods have had no issues with them staying shut and they are on several fast jeeps
Citrucel. It won't cause excess gas. Sugar free 16.9 oz. Taste Preferred 2 to 1 over Metamucil. AE Carbon has talked about a 300 CF hood, but that's going to be down the road.
in there defence. they did not pull out the insert. but the glass kept expanding and contracting causing the bolts to viberate out. that jeep hood was not made by trufiber.
Never thought about that.... How much does it expand and contract? More or less than metal? any rough idea of how much?
well, it was enough to wiggle the bolts loose. after they got the final fit in the second hood it was lock tighted tight. i talk to the guy at trufiber about it and he said it had never been an issue before, but it happened twice on the same hood. just something to watch out for. alex i see you looking, hahahaha
i just want to add that i do not believe this is a trufiber problem. i think that all fiber glass and carbon fiber hood should be closely watched when they are new.
His hood is NOT a TruFiber. And after talking to the people who installed it, it was a nightmare and didn't fit worth a damn.
