while i can not go...i have witnessed a few fairly large scale gatherings fail due to a low attendance....

so my thoughts are (keeping in mind that i will be unable to attend)....

The best would be to have a 2-day event that had racing one day and the carshow the day before or after with a social gathering (cook-out, barbecue, etc.) during the show. I know that at the NMCA show, I would have loved to race and be in the car show but I had to choose which I wasnt too thrilled about.

THIS WOULD BE A VERY GOOD MOVE CONSIDERING THE FINANCIAL SITUATION OF MOST PEOPLE THESE DAYS :thumb: Would you like to open the Event up to 2004 & newer MOPARS not just the LX Vehicles ?

I think that making it a more all inclusive event will bring out a better turn out (V6's will be more willing to travel distance than R/T's and SRT8's running big cam's and heads ect with bad mileage haha....

is it possible?....sure it is....but it is a very good move to gauge intrested ahead of time before making any final decisions

Hope i helped out in some way shape or form :thumb:

    goodluck!!

Keep the feedback coming . . . . lots of good ideas!!!

We appreciate the support. Thank you for the feedback. :thumb:

This is one of the "Top 10" issues that we need to address.

I know we had a handful of people inquire about this last time, and many have commented that "most" racers don't show or showers don't race. We would like to see the best competition on the track and the best on the show field. Not saying you can't be the best of both worlds but want to put this question out there to see the responses......

How many people out there are planning to try to do both?

I think at the bare minimum, in addition to the full LX platform we are looking to also invite the full SRT family of cars . . . . SRT4 Neon, SRT4 Caliber, SRT6 Crossfire, SRT Trucks, Viper, etc....

Hey everyone!!! Not sure if you noticed but your fellow LX community members are also discussing this over on lxforums ( http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=133413 ) and on chargerforums ( http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90256 ). A lot of the same ideas, and some additional ideas. Chuck and I want this to be an event that YOU would be excited to attend and sincerely want your feedback on things you would like to see and do. (Vendors Included)

We can't promise that everything will be incorporated into the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS but we will move forward based on YOUR suggestions and responses. We can't make it better if we don't hear from you so please post up your thoughts. Even if someone else has already mentioned your idea/suggestion go ahead and post it up so that we know that it is something that more than a handful of forum members want to happen. Keep it coming everyone!!!

    Best Regards,
    Anthony & Chuck

    Since you call it this:
    2009 LX & Beyond Nationals

I would think it should be LX only...

Those others that you have mentioned have there own Weekend events as well and there are no LX's invited to those...

    Just my 2 cents...

.....car show before racing cause you get dirty/change tires/strip interior for racing...

unless you want to have a race class for the car show where stripped cars get extra points I like the sound of that.

If adding the other cars as well I would have to agree that the show part stay just the LX's due to it being LX & Beyond Nationals. I would say do the carshow and get together on one day for just the LX's then the next day open it up to the others for a day of racing.

Chuck & I met this weekend and we have started our negotiations to secure a Drag Strip in Ohio for the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS. We can tell you this about the track, it has grass pit area, 14 staging lanes inside the guardrails and 2 more lanes outside the guardrails. There is a playground inside a fenced in area for young children, toilets that flush and best of all we can get the track for WAY LESS than last year.

The track owner sells Race Gas there as well. They carry all kinds of VP Fuel such as 110, C12, C14, C15, C16 (117 Octane), they also have M1 Methanol. I can not give you pricing as it will be sure to change by the end of June 2009.

Here is what Chuck and I have discussed so far; we want to make it a 2-day Event.
We will have Registration on Friday at the Hotel Headquarters.
There are 3 Hotels right next to each other
(two of them share a parking lot and the 3rd is across a small street.
Saturday we will have Time Trials & Qualifying for the Quick 16 at the Track.
We will have 4 Classes of Bracket Racing and 2 Classes of Heads Up Racing.
The Racing will be at a 1/4 mile track.
Sunday will be the Eliminations, the Car Show and the Award Presentation.

ALL VENDORS THAT SUPPORTED US LAST YEAR WILL GET IN FOR FREE. This will include a 30 x 30 space, 1 vehicle pass and 2 weekend credentials. If you need more space, more people, or more than one vehicle there will be an additional fee.

We are also going to IMPLEMENT A PARTICIPANT CERTIFICATION CARD. All Participants both from the Drag Race and the Car Show must go see at least 4 different vendors with their card and have that card stamped by that vendor. They must do this to receive any prizes that they may win either in the race or the show.

New Vendors will have to pay a Vendor Fee to get into the Event

SO STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION !!!!!!!

    I hear what you are saying . . .

We invited a few non-LX (Mopar) vehicles out to the 2008 LX Nats to race and everyone seemed to enjoy the additional competition.

Just throwing the idea out there again! :shifty:

Would you be willing to lose runs down the strip while waiting to get judged for carshow? plus, the time it would take you to strip the car to get ready for racing? Not saying both are not possible but . . . . . .

Nobody said you can not hang out with us. :band:

Nice to see some feedback from the SRT4 community. :welcome:

    Keep the feedback coming everyone!!!

    Anthony-
I'm likin' some of these ideas!

The hardest part would be adjusting the name of the event. Maybe some thing like "Limited Mopars 2009"?
That would let you include PVO, SRT, SVE, and other limited edition models as well.

I think the addition of different drivetrains would really spur on competition. I for one would IMMEDIATELY be out of any race with the Brian/Brian Jeep.. :)
Adding the others would also probably increase attendance, and possibly persuade others with 'not-so-good' MPG to make the trip.

The show portion could also be divided up by drivetrain. That should keep competition close as well.

There are LOTS of options, and I'm glad to see you guys asking for input to make the event even better.
If you would would like help with the event, let me know.

Anthony, Kevan did organize the largest Viper truck G2G in the country that anyone knows of. For the Mopar nats 2 years ago they had near 50 trucks and were the only group at the event ever in the history of the Mopar nats to have there own entrance into and out of the track to bypass the main gate.

So he is the man to ask for help if you guys need any.!

Thanks Keith, but we only got entry at Gate B.
We had to leave through the regular gates (and lite 'em up like everyone else....heh heh).

I don't want to step on any toes or anything like that. This is Anthony and Cherry's baby, and they did a great job with it last year.

The fact that they're asking for suggestions on how to improve it shows that these guys are dedicated and really want to produce the best event possible.
The fact that attendees are posting up real suggestions shows that THEY want a fun and well-organized event as well.

I'm happy to help, but Anthony has to PM me the name/number of his painter.
