As of this evening there are only 90 days remaining until the start of the
2008 LX & Beyond Nationals.

We have no doubt this will be THE BIGGEST LX EVENT OF THE YEAR.

There are a lot of folks checking in on the thread that have not even signed up onto the forum.

Don't forget lane preference given to lowest entry number, and you MUST be pre-registered to be eligible for drawings/giveaway and to enter the car show!!!

I am requesting pictures of certain vehicles that I would like to put on the Front of the LX & BEYOND NATIONALS T-Shirts: There are a couple of things that I need;

One you must be coming to the Event (that is 100%)
Two, your Vehicle has to be the EXACT Color that I am looking for.

With that said here is the list of the Vehicles that are needed and their color.

Just an idea......

Hey Guys,
An idea that my better half gave me to mention to all the guys bringing their wives or girlfriends (or wives and girlfriends).:muscle: If they don't want to hang out at the event all day on both days maybe they would want to do a spa day at Charles Penzone or makeover day at Bare Escentuals?

(BOTH are located within 5 minutes of the event hotels)

Hotel Update!!!

When booking rooms for either of the hotels you need to mention the group code first. Otherwise, they will tell you that there is nothing available. If you tell them, "I'm with the car group" or "the LX event" its not gonna do it. Because the rate is much lower than anything they offer on their websites they will not voluntarily offer you the dsicount code.

Saturday we went to BOTH hotels and after going thru the reservations for the days surrounding the event we found a lot of reservations that "LX" or "carshow" was mentioned and put in the notes but the code was not given at booking. There were a lot of rooms that did not get the lower group rate also because of that. I can't stress how important it is to give the code when booking. You may be very surprised at your room rate at check-out time if you don't.

I need everyone to do the following to avoid further confusion.

• Please make sure you called and reserved at the correct hotels!!! Call them directly RIGHT NOW. Its a 24/7 desk so no need to wait until Monday.
• Call them and verify your reservation/spelling of your name/room type/dates
• I would recommend calling the hotel directly vs. the 800# or online because the actual hotel knows the group better than the national number.
• Anybody that does not need a double room, please leave for the folks that do. I saw a lot of rooms booked as doubles for folks I know are traveling alone. They are all the same price and you actually have more room in the King vs. the Double Beds. Also, many of the King rooms have a sofa with a bed in it too.
• There are many room variations at BOTH locations, ask them what is available for each night of stay for the number of people you are bringing.

There are still some King rooms available at the Wingate and there are TONS of King and Double rooms available at the Hilton. Again, give them the group code or you will have a difficult time reserving anything. As we get closer and closer to June your options will get more difficult. Don't wait until the last minute!!!

GOODYEAR TIRES has just signed up as a Vendor and they are giving us 3 sets of Tires to give away. Each set is 4 tires. so that is 12 tires total.

Here is how we are going to give them away:

Questions:

1. I see that the Challenger and Jeep are included. What about the SRT-10's (car & truck). I'm sure a few of the Viper guys would like to hang out.
2. Why a hotel in Polaris? It's kinda far away from the track, no?
3. My neighbor just opened a brand new bar in Pickerington (sort of on the way from/to the track). I'll check on parking lot size, but it could be a nice 'break spot' or secondary meet-up place.
I know my neighbor would love the customers and the attention brought. Shoot me a PM and I'll get you guys in contact with him.

 

I am sure that Anthony or Chuck will answer but the event was originally going to be a Car Show/M&G at Polaris. Then the drag racing was added. At that point, there was still and idea that the M&G at Polaris and Car Show and Drag Racing at National Trails. After a lot of thought, it appears that there was a chance that the event would be bigger than what the Polaris venue could accomodate so everything was moved to National Trails except the hotels.

I agree that your neigbor's bar sounds like it would be a convenient place between the hotel's and the track.
