Eh, if you wanted to you could make the schedule work for those who wanted to do the car show and the drag race....let them be judged 1st or earlier (That is how the SRT Nationals do it)....if people are driving so far it is more enticing to make the trip with the change to do both.

Don't know if you saw the update, but everything will be at National Trail Raceway for BOTH days now.

SRT Nationals? I thought that was canned after the 2006 year? :deshade:

Actually, the schedule has been setup so that carshow participants will have the opportunity to run at the end of the day on Saturday (4:15pm) and also they have an opportunity to run early Sunday morning (8:30am) to get dialed in for the brackets and Quick 16.

Obviously they are not gonna get as many passes as the folks that raced on Saturday but a good compromise so they can get in the action on day #2. :thumb2:

Anthony if you had to "Guestimate" how many runs do you think a person could get over the weekend?

If we have no oil or coolant leaks on the race track I would honestly say that you will get 3 Time Runs on Saturday. Then on Sunday you will get 1 more time run, then Eliminations will start. Once Eliminations starts the amount of runs you get will be related on how well you cut good reaction times, drive, and LUCK.

But going out on a limb I would say if you WIN your class you could have the 3 time runs plus the 1 on Sunday and some 5-7 rounds going through
    the eliminations.

Hope to see you in Columbus
    Chuck

Hey Cherry and Turbobuckeye - what are all the good reasons you don't come and hang out with us in Indy on March 22? I'd bet almost every single LX at our event will be coming to your event. Actually a good chance for you to press the flesh and build even more repoire with the community ahead of your event.

Update: Entry Info Released On Post #1

Thank you for everyone's patience as we finalized some MAJOR event details. I am very happy to announce the wait is FINALLY over, and it’s now time to announce the entry fees for the much anticipated LX Event of 2008 - THE LX & BEYOND NATIONALS !!!

$20 Meet & Greet (Saturday Only)

    $30 Car Show (Saturday Only)

$50 Drag Race Competition (Covers Both Days)

**Anybody that decides to race on Sunday that has already paid for the M&G or Car Show can do so by paying the additional amount to equal the $50 Drag Race Entry Fee. (i.e. M&G additional $30, Car Show additional $20)

All pre-registered guests will be parked on the in-field side of the track, along with the vendors and car show participants. All spectators of the event will be parked in the grass areas outside the track. Same as last year, we will have some major prizes and giveaways for this year's event from Power Ported Performance/Creative Induction Systems - Billet Technology - Advanced Automotive Concepts - Magnaflow Mufflers - Pedders Suspension just to name a few and ONLY those of you that get pre-registered will be eligible.

Due to the overwhelming number of folks attending this event, Paypal was just not a reasonable way to handle entry fees. Also, because the event will be held at the race track it is necessary for each driver to sign a liability waiver, which is much easier to do in advance versus trying to do it the day of the event. For those reasons, registration will be done via US Mail ONLY. After the deadline passes, entry fees are subject to increase!!!!!!

Many, many more event announcements to come so stay tuned . . . .

    Is it June yet?

    Anthony

There seems to be MORE reading into the Entry Form than is needed so I will
CLARIFY it in this post. If you are coming to the
    LX & BEYOND NATIONALS
the most you will pay for the weekend is $50.00 for you and your vehicle.
Now if you are bringing along a rider they will pay $10.00 per day or $20.00 for the weekend.

You can enter the Meet & Greet for Saturday and then pay an additional fee to race on Sunday.

You can enter the Car Show on Saturday and then pay an additional fee to race on Sunday.

If you have ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE PM ME.

    Thanks

What are the class rules for drag racing?

    Define "6.1L" for example.

Started life as a 6.1? Still displaces only 6.1L? Power adders allowed? etc.

    Good Question Matt,

We have 4 Classes of Racing of which 3 are under Bracket Format Rules.
    They are V-6
Any LX that started life as a 5.7 HEMI
Any LX that started life as a 6.1 SRT

As most people know in a Bracket Race the slower car starts off first then the quicker vehicle has to try to catch the slower one WITHOUT breaking out, redlighting, crossing the center line, or hitting the wall.

So to answer your question if you have a vehicle that started out as a SRT then you would race in one of two classes, If your vehicle is quick enough to qualify for the QUICK 16 you can race therer and that is HEADS UP or you can race in the 6.1 Bracket Race, and YES power adders will be allowed.

Can I race in the 6.1L bracket class AND the quick 16? If so, what will I be paying?

Short answer, YES. $50 for you and your ride for the entire weekend.

Additional passengers would be $10 per day.

I will let Chuck explain the logistics in further details.....

If you can qualify for the QUICK 16 you will stay in that class with ONE exception, if you qualify for the quick 16 and get beat in the first round I will roll you over into the Bracket Race for FREE. Now if you loose in the Quick 16 in round 2 or round 3 your day of racing is done.

    Chuck

Now if you bring two cars you can enter in two classes but you better have a back up driver if both vehicles keep winning.

That's a little dissappointing. I can definitely make the quick 16, but I'm also a pretty decent bracket racer. Oh well - I think I'll just have to win the Quick 16.

(yes - that's a call out to a couple of people - they know who they are)
