well, when i street raced in the late '80s we did not have these problems. i had a 9 second street car and we used to race all night with out people getting all crazy. maybe not smarter just more respectful of the situation. not a 600 shot thats on the outlaw car, just a 550 shot. remember somebody has to do it, and nobody better than a guy who can get it fixed under warranty.lol thats not nice.
No, this is NOT nice... http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showpost.php?p=235069&postcount=14 Me laughing is just being silly. haha
I want to see this documentary. I have a neighbor who races at The Q regularly and it would be interesting to see BOTH sides of the story about what is going on down there. Hubby and I were talking about this stuff and he said that in Cali it is illegal to have engine mods that alter the smog emissions...so for all you Cali peeps please look into this BEFORE you add these mods...the last thing we need is for our members to have their cars impounded and crushed due to illegal engine mods.
That is correct. However, if the mods are C.A.R.B. approved, with the CARB plaque, then they are legal.
Thank you for that information..I did not know that...I just checked out the C.A.R.B. website and have it bookmarked so I can re-read it and gain the information that I may need.
Not trying to be argumentative here. The state cannot crush cars for having illegal mods or for getting caught street racing. That footage was from a few years back, and the state was slapped with a HUGE lawsuit due to the violation of the owners (of the cars) rights. Basically they determined that the car did not committ the crime, the driver did. Therefore, the car should not be "punished." I will look for the article on the ruling for that particular case against the State of California.
Sorry i didn't know that they weren't crushing the cars anymore...just had heard that they were doing it at some point....I retract the statement......
Yes you are... lol That is actually valuable info Luis. Thanks. Pay no attention to Luis, Jason pee'd in his corn flakes this morning. bwahahaha
i kinda had to laugh at the one guy making the comment of speed limits vs. what the auto manufactures are building power/speedwise!!! lol
