I've been trying to reach the 10.50 mark for quite some time on a stock block and cam. Last night, we finally got some decent weather in S FL and headed to the track. I skipped right past the 10.50's with a 10.49 on my first pass. Second pass, netted me a 10.371 @ 129.78 with a 1.52 60'. I spun real bad on my third pass but I did run 130MPH. It was a good night. The track was very crowded. They have a big bracket race going on this weekend. We couldn't find a place to pit. We had to put our tires and tools next to where you pick up your timeslip. I hung out with Scott and Tony all night. Scott also got a motor personal best. I'll let him elaborate on that. I was spraying a 300 shot (that's not a typo) through a Wilson Pro Flow direct port system. I have the basic bolts on with Mondello heads and a SHR transmission. I'm running a Mopar 2600 stall converter. I just built a forged 6.1. I have a custom cam going in. Plus, I plan on hitting it with more spray. The converter is the last piece I need. I'll be calling Eddie this week to get some input on this.
Thanks! And it is now fixed. It was a hell of a ride. I knew it was pulling strong, but I had no idea I would get 10.30's. Thank you! Thank you. It has been a long time coming. I only had the balls to put a 300 shot on it because I have a spare engine waiting to go in.
nice rob........ i'm thinking you should just keep upping the amount of the shot until you actually blow up the motor!!! would love to see how much spray it will take to kill the stock motor!!! c'mon rob..... dew it!!! lol
I'm actually ordering some new jets on Monday. If we get another cold night, I plan on hitting it with a 350 shot.
blah blah blah you keep going faster an faster, i'm getting tired of hearing about it already. its bad enough i gotta be there to witness it. :bigwink: why don't you do something different next time
I am going to try something different. I just ordered jets for a 350 shot. I may pull some weight this time and see just how strong Dodge made this block. I've also attached a copy of the timeslip.
I may pull the front seat and put in the small battery next time. That will be the extent of my weight reduction. I didn't do any of those things this time. The track was very crowded and we didn't have a place to pit. I think we should have some good weather this Friday. I may try it then. It should be close to 100LBS savings.
I see a motor rebuild soon in your future...you're insane for going 300 IMO, but hey, go for it bro! You KNOW it's bad when I'm the voice of reason.
That's a good thing, but you could rebuild your current motor, sell it, or keep it for a spare. Plus if/when you blow it up, it will cost a tow to get it home or to the shop. Not to mention the danger of a fire or something. If you don't care, i sure as hell don't...just throwing that out there for you to think about.
