From Stu: Most of you know that we have been doing 09 and up "Eagle" cams since the 09 came out. The down side is they are ground off stock cores so were stuck with the 115 LSA. That and you need to use $125 custom pushrods. I've worked with my cam grinder Crower, into getting 8620 copper coated Eagle cores made but they want me to be able to sell 25 fairly quick. The other item is the eagle core is alot more complicated so between the low numbers and the extra machining and holes these cams are going to be in the $600-700 range. Although, the more we can line up the lower the price will be as they can get the cores cheaper. The nice thing is, you can use stock pushrods which will save 125 and the even better thing is we can run any LSA you want so we could do a spartan on a 111 or 112 LSA and you can get a cam with some chop which was never before available for the Eagle. There will still be the same limitations on duration that you can't go bigger than 212 on the intake without valve notches or disabling VCT but a 212/216 duration cam on a 112 or 111 LSA will be a strong performer and definately have the lope that the reground cams were missing. Should pickup some torque also. So in the $600-700 price range would anyone be interested? If I can get close to 25 on board we can make it happen. I'm looking into doing a non VCT version also so if you could specify VCT or non VCT. The non VCT would not have the passages for VCT and would therefore elimianate it so any cams we grind for the pre09 cams that work in pre 09 engines will work with this cam. The only exception being that there will be 2 degrees less duration due to the difference in base circle size between the earlier and eagle cams. So for instance an SRT Max would be a 216/220 on a 112 which would be a good 5.7 cam for a converter. Splitting the difference between the pre 09 spartan and SRT Max. So any that are interested let me know this isn't a commitment yet but a feeler and then if it looks good I'll put a group buy together at and introductory price that will be less than the retail price. I wouldn't call it a gunnie pig price since we've already done quite a few eagle cams this just gives us many more options on grinds that will work.
