I had a change in plans so I ended up detailing my own car today. Its a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 2,500 miles. The camera I have is useless, these pictures are horrible. I just gave up with the camera, the pictures are horrible. I started out just looking to wash it, but I felt it needed a little attention. Started with an ONR wash. Today I tried Zaino All-In-One for the first time. I had problems with dusting, but it was the pads. I used a Makita rotary with green and blue Edge 2000 Wave pads. Unfortunately, I used pads that I haven't touched in over a year and they had much polish left in them. Swapped out the pad, no dusting. I finished with Zaino Z-5pro + ZFX, a wipe with Z-8, then a coat of Souveran. For good luck, I applied one more shot of Z-8. Zaino Z-16 is on the tires and plastic trim. I used Chemical Guys Silk Shine on the wheel wells, not done in the pictures though. Start Time and Indoor / Outdoor temperatures. BEFORE: DURING: dusting problem solved... AFTER: I had to come in for dinner, I still have a little work to do. Fire Away..
I bet your paint would give you a big hug if it could! Shit looks good as hell, like black water...... very nice! Chase
Thanks. My goal when detailing is to make the car look like a oil slick. This was a quickie, when it warms up I'll do it right.
A guy in a black BMW 750 stops me on my way home from the train tonight and says, "Thats the cleanest car I have ever seen, for black that it unreal. Who did it for you?" Ha-ha
Justin: Great turnaround. These "before" pictures (especially the drivers front quarter panel) tell quite a story. It's a concern that there are so many scratches at the 2500 mile mark. Is this the complimentary dealer inflicted package?
Tropicare Steve - Its been sitting since August in a garage in NYC. It got swirled to death in a car wash Mamaroneck when my wife "got it cleaned" for me.....they used the nylon brushes..... The dealership provided a glaze with kaolin fillers beyond belief! I alcohol wiped the car and it was like rubbing thinner on a lacquer paint job!! I had a 06 SAAB that had MORE damage with nothing but 2 bucket washes and sealant. the paint was so soft it made me sick to maintain. the California Duster would put thousands of swirls in the finish. I have a Cayenne Turbo with Cerami-clear which is much more resistant to the damage.
Wow someone ALMOST worse then i, anally that is. Looks great, I seriously need a few coats of Zaino on mine. Im going to need to clay it before I start re applying my Zaino its been a few months but mine has been hibernating in the garage.
Tony, have you seen the organization in Jd's garage!?! I thought I was organized lol...not. Beautiful work by the way. I'm just waiting for some nice weather to give it a nice wash and wax.
