The only thing that keeps me from saying it's just a bad upstream 03 sensor is the p0301 code.Unless it ran so lean it melted the plugs.

I would keep boost at 6psi or less on a stock bottom end........at that amount of boost it would be less expensive to do a good cam/head/intake...
