The pads actually have tabs on them that squeel when they are worn and need to be replaced
The pads on our cars are twice as thick in the front then the rear. I had to replace mine at about 17k miles

Guess that depends on if you like them or not, but honestly there are several forged rims that look very similar to those.
Half the guys on here with after market rims don't have forged.
