I went to MN to visit some friends and while I was there my buddy's dad got a new 08 C6...Well he wanted to run and of course I was game..Temps were in the 40's and I finally got bottle pressure to 900 but it wouldnt go over 900.We never got run from a dead stop due to traffic...His car is a brand new C6 with the 6 speed auto and had less than a 100miles on the clock..which is in my favor...First run with two people in vette and two in Jeep..We ran from a 60mph roll,no spray only motor and I pull him till maybe 80 at best then by 100 he is one and a half on me and pulling...Second run from a 60 he kicks it first then I hit it then I let the juice flow...I pull him by one full length and maybe another quarter and we keep it hit till we get between 120-130...I really wanted to run him from a dead stop with no spray but it just wasn't possible..Now the problem is when on motor it pulls nice through the rpm range but when I spray first hit is strong but the Jeep seems like it is way fat over 5000 rpm..I have the 125 Zex pills in and B&G nitrous tune which Dave said would be a lil fat at WOT...My lil bro was behind me in a Tundra and he said when I was spraying that it was blowing black smoke...I know its fat by how it pulls in the upper rpms ...and I am dissapointed with the way it pulls on spray.. Question to NOS guys? should I have Dave lean WOT fuel out to a lil over stock range or his preference or drop a lil fuel on the jet? Thanks for any input
If you get knock retard, your computer will add lots of fuel to compensate. Unless you have less timing than stock, you're probably getting plenty of knock retard when the nitrous engages.
good reply Patrick. Honestly without a wide band........you are better safe then sorry. Fortunatly I can tune mine, by logging the A/F ratio, and then compensate on the Predator for weather, bottle pressure..whatever. It really is pretty cool to make a pass, and then review and tweak it. Congrats on busting the Vette up. They are a little hard to drive. I am an excellent stick driver, and my old boss had one. When you launch, unless you have a lot of practice with a newer Vette, it is hard to find the 1st gear sweet spot, between a burn and a bog. When you start waxing Z06s, like I do, then you will be totally stoked. LOL. They will always blow by you 100+, but usually when you scare them so badd of the line, they blaze the tires trying to run you down.....they are doing a lot of thinking when they see you launch and leave them. haha.
Exactly. In no way do I believe my JEEP is faster than the Z06, but off the line, most of the Vette owners cant drive for beans. So, it so far, has always gone like this: Powerbrake to 1500rpm, foot thru the floorboard on green, instant 2 trucks lead while watching the Vette scoot sideways 1-3 times, meet again at the next light while Vette owner has bewildered look on their face.
